Here's Awkward Bodies playing at Radio K on their "Off The Record" show. Lots of shots of my hands and Mason being nervous in front of the camera. Also, our EP is the Waffles Release of The Week, so if you want it fro free, well, there it is. https://www.waffles.fm/forum/27/69558/index.html |

been having a go at recording in garageband for ipad. all via the built-in mic or line-in + amp models. really surprised at how clear the ipad's (quite small) mic is. i thought it'd be tinny as hell

Deleted cause I'll never be as good as Luke De Spa

if i could change one thing about that band i would make the guitar playing style a bit more more twangy and a little less metallic. ghost notes and bending could actually make it seem like you're playing faster too.
|
|
I don't really follow what you're saying about my guitar playing. The recording is kind of muddy overall so it's hard to really make out the guitar tone. I actually hate twangy guitar sounds for the most part too. And there's plenty of bending and ghosts notes going on with the lead playing.
|
oh that's you playing? cool - i think i'm just biased towards what i think texan guitar playing should sound like.
|
i think what i'm trying to say is that i think it could benefit (the guitar playing) coming from the blues perspective as opposed to what appears to be a metal perspective. even though they are really two sides of the same coin as far as technique goes.
as i stated originally this is all based on personal preference. |
Yeah that's me playing. Definitely not trying to sound Texan in any way at all. You know the radio here plays ZZ Top about twice every half hour. I never want to hear them again. I'm definitely going for a heavier Pumpkins type sound a'la Gish.

a cover of felt's "fortune" I did a while back. I adore the song. It's quite amateurish, beware
