fast forward to august 18th 2017 when we gave birth to my life saver ENOX CORGAN CRAIN. Thank you. One moment saved a life and helped to create another.
Thank you billy for bringing me lots of laughs on this dreary and cold tuesday morning. I haven't laughed so much since the last season of Nathan for You.

MCIS had a huge impact on me. More certainly than I expect any other album to do. I was a teenager, wrestling with a lot of things, and the emotional range of MCIS was just right. Also, it was doing things musically that I had not heard before. MCIS is a true masterpiece, though some of the lyrics have not aged well. Or perhaps I have aged too much.

My first real rock concert was Rockpalast with the Smashing Pumpkins, yes, that Düsseldorf '96 concert. There were a lot of bands that day. The lineup was insane! Sonic Youth, Afghan Whigs, Filter, Garbage, Cypress Hill, with the Smashing Pumpkins headlining. Oh yes, and Chumbawamba, but before "Tubthumping". I was there mostly for the Pumpkins and Garbage, but I discovered Afghan Whigs that day. Sonic Youth was too noisy for my taste (then).

There was a point when I thought I would listen to the Smashing Pumpkins forever. I was a fan of BC until 2008, I'd say. I even enjoyed Zeitgeist, but his behaviour and the decline in the quality of the music became too much. Zeitgeist was the last album I bought, and I didn't even finish listening to any of his releases after Monuments.

I will certainly not cry whenever Tonight, Tonight is on, and I am not even that emotionally stable :-)

Lmao there's a couple of pretty interesting memorabilia in there but you know what? I'm not going to read the story of that botched tattoo on your foot, thanks.

Cool As Ice Cream 01-27-2021 04:11 AM

who can write a memory that tops all the other ones already there, and get it published on sp.com?

Oklahoma Sexual 01-27-2021 04:22 AM

I'd love to submit a bullshit story but it's probably monitored

I wonder if Monte (or a Monty imposter) will submit something?

that's the challenge. write a bullshit story more outrageous than the rest, but write it in a way that will get it through the monitoring.
if you see what got through already, this mustn't be too hard.

The tape

Jennifer Wilson
Hainesport New Jersey, US

So I was about 16 and I went with my mother to see the Pumpkins at the Spectrum in Philly. It was my first time seeing them. It was July 5th and 6th . I had tickets to both shows. I, being an overly emotional crazy Pumpkins fan, cried hysterically during both the shows. I was right up front and at some point my mom just happened to meet Yelena who was also up front. They started talking and my mom said she was there with her daughter… and she pointed me out. And yelena said “oh the one that’s been crying for two days? Hold on a sec”. And she came back with two backstage passes. I went backstage after the show and met the whole band and had them sign this scrapbook that I had made and brought with me. And then I told Billy (through an immense amount of tears) that I had never heard the song “Jennifer Ever” (no internet back then) and that I wanted to hear it because my name is Jennifer. He told me to give him my address and he would send me a tape he made for the band.

Wtf didn’t realize it was the week before Melvoin’s death and the end of the golden era.

Wow, I knew her! I met her at a diner in like 98-00 and she told me about this tape billy gave her with Jennifer Ever on it and a version of that story. She never showed it to me or told me the rest of the tracks though. I tried to get a copy but it never happened. I think billy told her to not copy it or something. I recall we kept in touch here and there for a few years on AIM. That’s my Mellon Collie memory.
