What is a Katie Cole?

Baby don't hurt me.

FlamingGlobes 05-08-2019 03:06 PM

Huh, smart guy?

fuzzyroes 05-09-2019 10:25 PM

I picked up a Noel Galagher's high flying birds CD from the local library sale for 1 dollar. Gonna revisit it again haha

fuzzyroes 05-09-2019 10:27 PM

They only had about 10 CD's for sale in a tiny little plastic basket and the self titled Noel Galagher release was one of them. Another title they had was one from Sevendust lol

Smashing Pumpkins 2019: August US Tour

Who's going?

Will the russian dolls be there?

Rarities on the set?

Got a ticket to the Tinley Park gig, 30 mins south of Chicago. It's a suite ticket. Lowkey/highey might sell it and crazily splurge to get a front row ticket

houseofglass11 07-14-2019 03:00 AM

Not going, too hot outside. Thnx.

Shallowed 07-14-2019 03:13 AM

If the Russian dolls aren't there, I'm not interested.

Shadaloo 07-15-2019 10:05 AM

FoolofaTook 07-15-2019 10:25 AM

You know you guys could chose to see Boris and Uniform instead, right?

Hilariously, Boris ARE coming to my town in September. But I'll be in Japan!

FoolofaTook 07-15-2019 03:21 PM

You may be laughing, friend, but I, FoolofaTook, I weep for you! O, cruel fate! O, ruthless stars!

Corgan's Bluff 07-17-2019 03:53 PM

RAM needs a backstage pass to look over Jimmy's shoulders...

FoolofaTook 07-17-2019 05:04 PM

Stop teasing my main man Ram. Dude's devoted, that's all.

enthusaroo 07-18-2019 12:22 AM

If only the music wasn't so bad in 2019, I'd definitely go, but the music is so poor.

fuzzyroes 07-18-2019 02:51 AM

They definitely need some good new music to energize the vibe a bit. But I suppose the truth is that 90-95% of the concert attendees just wanna hear the hits.

fuzzyroes 07-18-2019 02:53 AM

It's funny, I was reading Rolling Stone magazine from a month or 2 ago and they had a page about 90's nostalgia double-bill tours and they had a blurb saying something like Billy and the band are finally content to focus on the past!

I also learned from thhe article that Bush and Live and Hootie and the Blowfish and Barenaked Ladies are going on tours haha

Or anything but new songs tbh. Not my stance, but I'm going to see one of the US shows with coworkers, and they don't seem to care much what is played as long as it's pre 2008 SP material.

I had a blast at the Berlin gig, and while the setlist choice had only a few songs I wanted to hear again, it didn't matter in the end, they just sound fantastic currently. As far as energizing the vibe goes, the newest songs were the only ones where the crowd wasn't fully into it because they never heard them nor cared to hear them, so if you want to de-energize the vibe, some Shiny songs on the setlist will do just that.

Cool As Ice Cream 07-18-2019 03:13 AM

lol u fanboy

pavementtune 07-18-2019 03:16 AM

it gets even worse - I had a blast completely sober

where is the shame corner? I'm gonna stand in it and not give a fuck, because every memory a pedal

speaking of, I'd love to hear Shame, wouldn't that be nice.

I'm simply ready to embrace that I belong in the camp of aged concert goers seeking comfort above action, and hearing SP is comfort. Heck, the last concert I went to was an orchestra playing West Side Story while the film was shown - on a lawn while having picknicks, okay. I'm officially 70, SP is right up my alley.

omg wtf

i went to a pixies show sober once and it was the worst pixies show ever
never again

Mals Marola 07-18-2019 10:41 AM

yeah i think so long as you actually respect the band (it's not some one-hit wonder you're going see "ironically" or whatev) you'll enjoy the majority of a show provided it doesn't suck. i saw Nine Inch Nails before I even actively listened to them and thought it was cool as hell. of course SP are a lot different but I don't think yer gonna lose a casual fan by playing "Hummer"

some of the newer stuff tho, let's just say "Run2Pee" earned its title during those '15 shows

That's the hard thing whenever I'm sober for any period of time, it's like "how in the hell am I gonna go to a concert sober".
