I ended up taking a plea deal because it would be the cheapest thing for me really. The cost of defending myself started to be too much of a burden. Felony dropped, withhold of adjudication on the misdemeanor, around 500 more dollars to pay the court cost and the missing 240 dollars, 6 months probation. I'm not going to jail, I won't be a felon.

i'm glad you've got an OK deal in the end but jesus christ it's maddening even for me to read that you have to pay for the missing money and the court costs etc

I didn't work for the hotel. I worked for a company that provides a service to the hotel and it's guests onsite, among other things. I got moved to another site where I work for someone who has the same position I did. Just at another site. Sorry I make things sound more confusing than it really is.
