I've run out of Netflix

I need suggestions for what to watch.

for the past year I've been watching mostly Netflix. And i fear that I've seen everything worth watching.

I haven't watched House of Cards yet cause I promised my wife I'd watch it with her.

Also, i've been watching a lot of shit on Hulu and it's mostly the same situation.

Lately i've been browsing through independent horror movies. found a few worth watching, but most are lame torture porn

The Other F Word is good. It's a doc about when punk rockers become parents - features all the big names.

i'm watching Vice documentaries... watching this right now actually (about north Korea)

I was about to start watching sherlock

MyOneAndOnly 02-26-2014 10:04 PM

sherlock is good. i liked the first two seasons more than the third

I have no idea if it's still on Netflix but Stranded: I Have Come from a Plane That Crashed on the Mountains is one of the best documentaries I've ever watched. It's about the Rugby team that crashed in the Andes in 1972 and had to resort to cannibalism to survive. Such a remarkable story and amazing how they survived and the few that made the long journey through the mountains at the end of winter to find someone is unbelievable.

weird that Netflix's first suggestion for me under TV Shows is Bates Motel

MyOneAndOnly 02-26-2014 10:08 PM

just realized that I haven't watched the last two seasons of Skins on BBC

slunken 02-26-2014 11:38 PM

I just watched Crocodile Dundee 2 today

slunken 02-26-2014 11:39 PM

There's a lot of stuff on Netflix I just wish the search engines/genre categories were better.

click on "comedy". click on "sort by year". scroll for forever down to the 80s. otherwise i would have had no idea CD2 was there.

Trotskilicious 02-26-2014 11:41 PM

search "werner herzog"

slunken 02-26-2014 11:43 PM

oh man i forgot herzog played the villian in that tom cruise movie "jack reacher" i watched that with my dad and was flipping out. it took a microsecond of hearing his voice.

horrible movie.

slunken 02-26-2014 11:47 PM

i love the part in croc dundee when the japanese tourists think that he's clint eastwood.

Trotskilicious 02-26-2014 11:50 PM

werner is in jack reacher that's hilarious

my parents love those novels and they were so very upset that thom cruz was going to play jack reacher. they were thinking idris elba or something.

slunken 02-26-2014 11:51 PM

lately i've been alternating between episodes of family guy (since they took king of the hill away it's my go-to show just to have on for the sake of having something on) or weird horror movies.

i know family guy gets a lot of shit but i think it's incredibly self-aware. i think if you remember watching or grew up watching shows like all in the family you understand it more than if you didn't.

Trotskilicious 02-26-2014 11:58 PM

i'd much rather go with futurama

slunken 02-26-2014 11:59 PM

i keep trying to get into that but for some reason it won't click

Starla 02-28-2014 12:05 AM

there's that bronies documentary

You might like Ripper Street, but I think it's on amazon. I was addicted to that one for awhile.

Trotskilicious 02-28-2014 12:25 AM

the comments on the bronies doc are just the best i've seen on the internet

it seems like outraged moms and their fury is righteous

killtrocity 02-28-2014 12:41 AM

pirate bay? pretty good selection

Starla 02-28-2014 12:41 AM

I'm going to have to check that out. We do have a my little pony collector in the house.

slunken 02-28-2014 01:37 AM

the bronies documentary is horrible, subject matter aside

i think after it came back people just got overwhelmed by it .. and there was a dip in quality but whenever i watch it now and again it seems to have picked up.

american dad is where its at though. there's a few misses but it's probably the funniest show on that programming block. sucks they're sending it to TBS to (probably) die

Trotskilicious 02-28-2014 02:19 AM

i've heard american dad got good, i remember a few years ago where roger convinces the kid that this meth lab is hogwarts and he's mixing up magic potions. it was really hilarious but it always seemed like if roger wasn't involved in the plot it kind of plodded.

Order 66 02-28-2014 02:27 AM

yeah it took some time to hit its groove (which happens with like 80% of animated comedies it seems)

i don't know at what point it became "good" but when it got heavy on the black humor it became fucking hilarious
