Stuff for The Cure's 40th Anniversary in the works
Tim Pope, their music video director since the dawn of time, has been dropping cryptic hints about things coming out in 2018 on his twitter for the last few days. Mentions fifty boxes full of never before seen stuff.
Whatever the hell this is, I really hope it actually pans out and it's not buried like every single thing Robert Smith's announced since the goddamned Disintegration reissue and Bestival concert. |

Even if your'e not a Cure fan that's still an amazing lineup. Interpol and Editors at the same show. That will attract a lot of people. They may never play together again and I don't think they've ever played before. Kind of reminds me of The Kilers and White Lies playing together with Tears for Fears last summer. Lot of people would do anything to see Killers and White Lies together. That's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

^ I was really considering going (still kind of am, if it's not sold out yet), but Hyde Park - ugh. I don't know.

I hear you, man. I live 18,500 kilometres away, and the commute is a bitch.

So according to Tim Pope it's going to be a feature-length documentary, much of it narrated by Robert himself. It's been described as being a big year for the Cure, maybe he has one more album in him. Kinda hope so. 4:13 dream would be a shit note to go out on.

hope that exact line-up creeps into the states, preferably the west coast T_T
|
it won't, though

Slowdive, Interpol and The Cure?!! I envy everyone attending this.
