Epic cover/reimagining of Tonight Tonight

Hi fellow Pumpkin fans! I just want to share with you my piano cover of Tonight Tonight.

This is not an ordinary carbon copy cover of the song. As a composer coming from a Classical music background (Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart) I took the opening orchestral intro of the song and wove my own 19th century-style music around it. For the video, I used a variety of nostalgic images of the band as well as fairy tale illustrations which pay homage to the beautiful John Craig album artwork on MCIS.

Thank you for listening.

NovaFritz 05-05-2019 11:36 AM

This cover totally DESTROYS the original. Totally epic, thanks.

NovaFritz 05-05-2019 11:49 AM

hey popnocturne, why does billy only play piano with three fingers on his left hand? his technique seems to suck to me

T&T 05-05-2019 12:15 PM

nice.

the first 35 seconds made me cringe and ready a few insults as it was NOT as described, but you turned that around.

good job.

Nah, it's cool. There will always be people who don't appreciate my music, I am bringing something new but some people just want what they already know. But there will be others who will appreciate my passion and love and vision of the song, you can't please everyone. So please, comment whatever you like, but either way thank you for listening.

I'm not sure what your point it. Billy is an expert in rock music theory. He trained himself by listening and learning from his idols, Bowie, Black Sabbath, Cheap Trick, etc. My background is in Chopin and Beethoven. My goal in this recording is to merge the two different styles.

Mals Marola 05-07-2019 07:32 PM

Corgan's Bluff never has a "point," per se, so much as a boastful display of how much better an e-stalker he is than the rest of us

i say this of course with love!

Thanks for listening! Yes I put Darcy first on purpose because I have a deep respect for her, no matter what others say. Everyone who worked on MCIS deserves respect and credit for their hard work and talent.

Corgan was telling to be in general no expert in music theory. Doesn't have to do with a special genre.
