Zwan reissue & tour

Flashback (2012):

Billy:

“Once we clear the Pumpkins’ first era, then I have about 65 unreleased Zwan songs, I have a ton of unreleased stuff relating to my solo album ‘The Future Embrace,’ and then there’s a ton of ‘Zeitgeist’ demos, probably songs I should have put on the album, that are pretty interesting and well-done. Also I have two unreleased acoustic records, plus an unreleased acoustic soundtrack — three albums worth of acoustic albums from the mid-2000s that are totally unreleased. So I’m hoping to just do everything chronologically.”

There is simply no sense in getting excited for these kinds of comments from Billy, since chances of that happening so slim, but fuck I hope those releases come true

I want the Spun soundtrack material.

No interest in a "2/5ths of Zwan" reunion tour.

Billy is very hands on.

He actually released Gish to Adore reissues pretty much on time, Machina was in standby due to deals issues with the label.

Kumar Littlejeans 12-06-2018 11:33 AM

He also stated a couple points in these Q&As that he has no memory of a couple Hideout songs, so few of those probably exist outside the bootlegs.

eviltimeban 12-06-2018 11:37 AM

Is it Zwan if it's just Billy and Jimmy though? Flip a coin, it could also be Pumpkins.

I suppose they fact they'd be playing Zwan only... but who beyond hardcore fans is going to go to that? Unless they do small club dates. Though that's not Billy's style.

Oh what could have been.

I really wish Zwan would have stuck together longer. I'm one of the ones who loved MSOTS and I've always wanted to hear more of their stuff but all the bootlegs I could find of their concerts online were so awful that I could barely tell what the hell their other music sounded like.

Also, Billy looks really friendly with Paz here. I wonder if the real reason they broke up was a love triangle with Bill, Paz and Pajo.

Shadaloo 12-06-2018 11:40 AM

Paz always looked like she farted into her hand and is about to get Billy to smell it in that picture.

Zer0 Hour 12-06-2018 11:45 AM

A fart from Paz is a GIFT damn it. You wish she would fart on you.

Forgotten Child 12-06-2018 11:51 AM

Billy has stated he is still found of Paz. Maybe she could come back for the tour and stay in the Pumpkins. We can call it Zwampkins.

Zer0 Hour 12-06-2018 11:52 AM

I'd sure as hell rather have Paz than Jack fucking Bates.

Funbags 12-06-2018 12:25 PM

Is Zwan without Pajo and Matt even Zwan?

smashingjj 12-06-2018 12:29 PM

He'll just do the hired hands thing again. Might as well call it SP

Rider 12-06-2018 12:38 PM

It's easy to own everything when you refuse to give your bandmates contracts until after the album is done.

I love how he pretends they had nothing to do with the music even though he never wrote anything like it before or after.

Bill first announced the reissues right after the Metro show in December 2000, so it took eleven years for the first one to come out. By the time we get any of the 2000s stuff it will likely have been 20 years since the announcement was made

Nowhere in my post do I deny this

But for real, the guy was always obviously crushing on her hard. Always thought that comment about 'sex acts in public' or hand jobs under a table or whatever was partially fuelled by jealousy.

topleybird 12-06-2018 01:41 PM

I'm imagining the level of vitriol Billy would reach in the liner notes for a MSOTS reissue and it's fucking amazing to think about

Was it? The story I know is that Pajo was having an affair with Bjorn's wife.

The audacity of Billy suggesting that anyone would want to see the reunion tour of his second band (that no one has heard of) with 2/5 of the actual members is hilarious.

I will point out that Paz is the tenous link between Pavement and SP. She played violin on the Silver Jews record "Tanglewood Numbers". ;)
