Shit, man... The Future Embrace is actual fire

Just sayin'

I member talking to a fellow person of this board - this album was slowly being released on MySpace - and I was like, "It sounds good... It's kinda Adore-like.

That's all.

Slurpee 03-14-2019 01:16 AM

It's a fantastic album. Great songwriting.

Big Truck05 03-14-2019 01:20 AM

It still has some of his older song writing skills. I mean, comparing with it today.

Big Truck05 03-14-2019 01:25 AM

I also saw teh Bolly play this in LA. Straw tits and special guest Jimmy. I was really drunk midway through the show. I was screaming YEEEAAAH at this couple next to me that was on a date or something... they didn't care. Then I drove 25+ miles back home, but shouldnt have. Ah, memories.

Vossamer 03-14-2019 01:29 AM

Is there like a different version of this album all of you are listening to?

Stop trolling, bro. Go to twittr.

russticles 03-14-2019 01:50 AM

Found this record super boring. Gave it a few chances but all subsequent listens didn't change my opinion on it.

wHATcOLOR 03-14-2019 02:43 AM

album really sucks. "all things change".. give me a break, i wouldn't make someone listen to that even if they were my enemy

D. 03-14-2019 03:29 AM

I listened to it recently after having only listened to it once back in 2005.

It is a descent album.

Reyngel 03-14-2019 04:49 AM

I loved it then, and I love it now. It, and some of Zeitgeist, is really the only shit I've liked since post-2000. Even Zwan stuff had me rolling my eyes.

One of the tracks on TFE that grew on me was Strayz. His vocals on it are really, really good.

Now (and Then), Walking Shade, TheCameraEye, ToLoveSomebody... all excellent.

The only song on it that I'm not incredibly fond of is Pretty, Pretty Star. Outside of that, I probably listen to the rest once every few months.

Mals Marola 03-14-2019 08:38 AM

PP Star is the shit you goof

but also

I love how on the main board, this thread title just reads "Shit, man... The Future..."

VoxUpDoc 03-14-2019 08:55 AM

I tried to get on with this album but I bounce off it every time.

But sure, I’ll give it a another chance...

FoolofaTook 03-14-2019 08:57 AM

Besides the shoegazy guitars, the albums sucks megalothonal dong.

Mals Marola 03-14-2019 08:59 AM

The best of tfe is the cover. One of the most outstanding covers ever seen.

I have heard that tfe was a great success in korea.is that true?

that bastard never told me he had gigs in places like that!

NovaFritz 03-14-2019 09:52 AM

I am not sure I would call it fire, but I do like it and think that it is criminally underrated. Most people go from shitting on Zwan to shitting on Zeitgeist and skip over the album.
it has 1) great songwriting on most of the tracks, 2) lyrics that are passable, 3) good vocal leveling, 4) a pretty good guitar tone and album atmosphere

It does have a few weak tracks and gets sort of exhausting after a while, though. Some variation in tone would improve it. I remember HATING the Walking Shade song and video when it came out and feeling embarrassed to be a fan.

TuralyonW3 03-14-2019 10:03 AM

It’s pretty great. It’s the last time Corgan was actually creative.

(And All Things Change is gorgeous)

you got some kind of problem with korea?

Jumong will put an arrow up your ass!

Kahlo 03-14-2019 11:49 AM

I saw both London dates of the TFE tour. It was excellent.

I haven't listened to the album for years, but remain fond of it...aside from 'I'm ready' which makes me want to murder through repetition of the title.

RAWK 03-14-2019 01:09 PM

Album is hot garbage

Forgotten Child 03-14-2019 01:59 PM

No you're hot

true. it descends right down to the bottom of the list, to its rightful place, the place for crap albums

Mals Marola 03-14-2019 03:13 PM

would love to see Paul Hem visit the album cover

"TheCameraEye" might be my favorite song Billy has written since SP1 ended. That sounded like something off a Smashing Pumpkins from an alternate future where Adore was a massive success.

VoxUpDoc 03-14-2019 05:12 PM

20 seconds into All Things Change.... Sheesh.

Horrible drumloop: check
Terrible vocal affectations: check
Weirdly out of synch instrumentation: check
Billy doing his race car noise: check

Mina Loy: Starts so well, then the chorus arrives and it's just nothing.

TheCameraEye: The guitar line is great, but there is this real disharmony between the music and vocals in the chorus that just make it... unlistenable.

Yeah... this album is a fucking garbage fire. It's seriously awful, what the fuck netphoria?

LaBelle 03-14-2019 05:20 PM

It's not even on Spotify.
