I think that was the first plan, than volume 2/3 became a double album.

Volume 2 is completely finished and coming this year. I think they were trying to figure out releasing forms and dates.

I think he's working from home, that's why you can see his kids around while he's recording.

Didn't know the second Shiny was a double album.

i don't understand how people fascinate themselves because the vinyl is a different color

the different colors can give you a slightly different sound and also different colors can have more/less surface noise.

Where they're pressed can have a huge difference on sound quality too. There's good plants and bad ones and with so many color variants these were probably pressed in a few different places.

So I can definitely see why someone would want to get every possible variant of an important work like SAOSB V1 to ensure that they're getting the best possible listening experience.

while this is technically true, it's only half the story because black has been shown to be the best colour - which is why it's the most popular.

so any other colouring is always just a trade off between some level of quality however audible vs aesthetics of pretty colours.


i agree with caic though, that for this release the best listening experience will be from the absent vinyl version.

I'm lost. Didn't this plan of 2 related albums exist before, Day for Night or some such? And the reason why vol 2 and 3 aren't released as one longer album by the end of the year is...?

That all 20something songs are album material, it would be too hard to decide on 6 b-sides or outtakes. Answered that myself.
