Only relevant artists of the 90s

FlamingGlobes 06-14-2017 08:20 PM

Not gonna lie, I could use some new Killers in my life. Hot Fuss and Sam's Town are still great albums. I really enjoyed most of Battle Born as well.

reprise85 06-14-2017 10:35 PM

^ this man knows what's up

Pretty excited for new The Drums. Encyclopedia was ok, but the new songs sound refreshing. Its just Jonny now. The Killers are icky

Catherine Wheel 06-15-2017 04:48 AM

Portamento is my favorite but I did enjoy Encyclopedia. Dont understand the hate for that one. The new stuff sounds more like Portamento. The album has already leaked on Soulseek.

Catherine Wheel 06-16-2017 02:03 PM

The Drums album is great. Back to the vibe of Portamento. Not as dark as Encyclopedia.

The Killers single turned out to be awful. It's straight up disco with horrible lyrics. They sound like the Bee Gees now. And Flowers just flat out can't sing anymore. He can't hit those lower notes he used to be able to hit. His voice is too nasal and high and shrill. Terrible song and leaves me with no hope for the album.

amazing stuff

The Killers are one of my guilty pleasures. I love Human. And change your mind off the first album.

FoolofaTook 06-17-2017 03:33 PM

Damn runaways is good. is that off the album after human? I stopped listening around that time (I discovered BORIS changing my life forever)

Yeah, that's from Battle Born. It's mostly corny, but earnest. I really enjoy the vibe of that album from time to time.

FoolofaTook 06-17-2017 07:09 PM

Corny but earnest. yeah sounds like brandon flowers alright. :)

What did you guys think of their cover of the joy division song goddamn i can't think of the name.

reprise85 06-17-2017 07:30 PM

SHADOWPLAY

IT WAS OK

fuzzyroes 06-17-2017 08:43 PM

Goddamn, I was watching a baseball game yesterday and they played a part of the new song by the Killers, and it's like straight up dance, electronica.... It sounded like crap too.

I was never much of a fan to begin with, but man, they sure sound desperate to stay relevant... The announcer afterwards likened it to the Beegees lol

couldn't get into the drums past their first ep or whatever it was

i still ride for the killers, all their albums

I just can't for the life of me get into Day & Age. I've tried and tried, but aside from a few songs, it just does nothing for me.

Because it's corny. It sounds like the corniest stuff from the 80s. Joy Ride is the worst thing they've ever done besides this new one. They both sound like disco.

Battle Born is pretty corny too. Sounds too much like REO Speedwagon

reprise85 06-18-2017 02:39 PM

i like Goodnight, Travel Well

FlamingGlobes 06-19-2017 10:28 PM

New single is fine. Not groundbreaking or anything, but worth a listen. Curious to hear the rest of the album.

FoolofaTook 06-23-2017 05:23 PM

I really liked Day and Age. That's the one Human is off right? Heh I remember consoling myself with Xasthur back in the day because I felt so guilty listen to the killers and lil wayne

FlamingGlobes 06-23-2017 05:40 PM

Feeling guilty for listening to something you enjoy is bullshit. Embrace the cheesier parts of your persona, I say.

FoolofaTook 06-23-2017 05:45 PM

Yeah I was just kidding (kinda). I still listen to the Heritage Singers when I drink Children's Flavored Cough Syrup.

FoolofaTook 06-23-2017 05:47 PM

And Tha Carta II pwns

what now bitches? Huh? What?

FoolofaTook 06-23-2017 05:48 PM

If I could embed I would post the song Kush by lil wayne.

so good.

FoolofaTook 06-23-2017 05:49 PM

Also that one line:

"You like a bitch with no ass: you ain't got shit."

Always felt like he was talking directly to me LOL

FoolofaTook 06-23-2017 05:51 PM

Do you like depressive black metal flaming globes?

:(

FlamingGlobes 06-23-2017 06:11 PM

Can't say I ever gave it a shot.

FoolofaTook 06-24-2017 05:47 PM

Good. Keep it that way.

:)
