That's a great point and something that is definitely overlooked about Weezer. When they do a cringe-worthy pop song, they (most of the time) seem in on the joke.



Whereas when you have Billy doing singles like Run2Me it just seems desperate.

Yeah, it's god-awful. Feels like Summer (the lead single off of the previous album) was an embarrassment too. So there's definitely valid reasons to shit on Weezer, no doubt about it... But that's a good thing about them putting out music so frequently, when you get a new album every 1-2 years, it's easier to overlook the complete turds whereas with Billy when it's like an album every 4 years the turds really linger:rofl:

Maladroit rules but it pissed a lot of people off because it was so heavy and didn’t do well commercially because of that. All of the singles have pretty aggressive riffs

It’s a lot like REM’s Monster

The guitars are loud and distorted with the same tone throughout so it kinda drags if that’s not your thing

I picked up some special edition with a full photo book & stuff for like $5 about a year ago

they played a piano version of "Let Me In" when i saw 'em in '08 that i'm pretty sure i have a clip of somewhere, but regardless, it did not disappoint

So sad and full of regret I never got to see em live.

Weezer was my 2nd fav band behind SP..
I first saw them in 94 & my mom dropped me off & they played 1 song and left..I was sad
But saw them in 96 at the Fillmore with Matt Sharp still in the band..soooo good. Saw them 10 times between 94-2001.. Saw them twice more in the last few years..they suck
