explosions in the sky are pretty awesome live

nothing really on tap aside from maybe random shows here or there, just planning on going to coachella again despite sub-par lineup.

KrazeeStacee 01-29-2008 06:57 PM

We're thinking about getting Lollapalooza early bird tickets... Just because a.) we're not going to any festivals this year and b.) chances are there will be at least a couple bands we want to see there. It's right in our backyard and we always end up wanting to go to see one band at the last minute anyway.

I wish Ben Harper would come back :(

Mayfuck 01-29-2008 07:13 PM

captain ahab, holy fuck, white rainbow, autolux, liars, no age, xiu xiu, atlas sound, acid mothers temple, autechre

i'd love to see these bands but i fear the tickets would be too pricey for it to be worth it

Azael 01-29-2008 07:48 PM

I'm seeing Dream Theater tonight.
They've been playing Voices and the first four songs off Scenes From a Memory recently, so I'm hyped.

They were alright when I saw them opened for...somebody a few years back. I remember reading the lead singer's voice is really shitty now though so might not be worth going.

All I am definitely going to right now is Wilco on 2/23. Other than planning on seeing R.E.M. and Radiohead when they tour later this year, I might go with my dad to Los Lobos in March sometime just so he does not have to go by himself.

Nimrod's Son 01-29-2008 07:57 PM

Coachella.

Actually they did jack up their prices this year too, they have 4 day passes on sale for $129 now (early bird, wtf?)

I believe you can just buy a day pass too if you find that the schedule happens to work in your favor for those bands...you don't have to camp and all that jazz.

Shapan 01-29-2008 08:07 PM

wow REM is doing a show with the national and modest mouse a day before my bday, i might just go to that

redbull 01-29-2008 10:26 PM

OHSHIT: 04/15 - BEN FOLDS

also REM/Modest Mouse/The National in Chicago is looking good, might go with my dad

you HAVE to go to Manson. :) and BMSR, they're freakin' awesome live. just the sight of all the vintage synths is worth it.

i'm highly, highly debating the cure...

might go to see Cat Power at the Phoenix next week, but I've seen her on this tour already and I don't think anyone wants to go with me :/

I can't make it to Manson...as sad as that is. I was really hoping we'd get to go but it's just too soon, not enough money, too many other shows.

And yeah, Mark just let me listen to BMSR the other day, he saw them open for The Flaming Lips...but those last 2 weeks in March are full of shows! And I have a performance! So we'll see how that all works out...

I saw The Cure with Interpol at the Tweeter Center, or whatever it's called now. That was pretty fucking great.

curiosa festival/tour 2004, right?

yeah, i saw them on that tour too, and I loved the show. mogwai was also one of the bands that played that day and they completely blew my mind.

when I agreed with hardcore's "they suck now" thing it's cause I'm really not into their new/newish stuff at all, and i don't know anyone who really is. i'm still as in love as ever with wish, head on the door, kiss me kiss me kiss me, etc. so i will go see the cure for as long as they'll ever tour.
