Been on a major Karen Carpenter kick lately

the whole damn story is so sad

she just wanted to play drums, man. and her brother was a total dick [and so was her husband and her mom] and she got forced to stand up and sing and then she starved herself and died

the story of her solo record is sort of a james iha/corgan thing too, where richard is billy

Her death by 317 stabs is one of the most tragic in rock history

Still can't believe everything came down to that knife fight with Neil Peart

There are those who hold he should've been charged with manslaughter but the cops ruled it was Street Justice

I'm sorry Karen

I will look into her actual life to make up for this flagrant disrespect

Didn’t know any of this

Thanks ram, topley b. Can’t wait to tell my kids about it later tonite, they love the drums/true crime

i tend to like covers of Bacharach more than the originals, & this is no exception

that's not at all a slight toward Bacharach either, there are just some really good cover versions out there
