What do Patrick Bateman, Carl Jung, and Deadsy all have in common?

You really want to know how far the rabbit hole goes?

They all inspired me. Well Deadsy and Jung inspired Shorter Typology. But Patrick Bateman inspired my general interest in psychology.

buzzard 07-08-2018 12:22 AM

That's at least 6% less generic than Tyler Durden, Sigmund Freud and Stabbing Westward.

I guess some rabbits might appreciate the proximity to sunlight and vegetation.

ninsp 07-08-2018 12:28 AM

Deadsy inspired you?

Embarrassing

Shallowed 07-08-2018 12:32 AM

ok

Catherine Wheel 07-08-2018 12:32 AM

Yeah I became quite obsessed and fascinated by their kind of far flung concept of archetypes the idea behind the band. And the same with the Patrick Bateman character.
I was never really the same after I stumbled across Deadsy 18 years ago. And started reading Jungs work.

I think the only one here who ever really caught onto all the Bateman references was Mals Marola. He seemed to drop hints over the last few years that he understood what was going on.

They're all not megalomaniacs trying to get attention for their bogus typology on a message board that they proclaim to be the puppet master of?

I think?

Catherine Wheel 07-08-2018 12:55 AM

I think RBG generally had a sense after a while that was some underlying or ulterior motive and master plan for me being here but Mals really hit the nail on the head with all the references to Patrick Bateman. They both kind of saw it for what it really was. And no one else really did or at least not as quickly as they did.

Catherine Wheel 07-08-2018 12:59 AM

Another way of explaining this is mentalism. The whole idea of having this laser focused intuition and ability for psychological manipulation and emotional manipulation.

Catherine Wheel 07-08-2018 01:19 AM

The thing about Deadsy is that if you remove the music from the equation it's still an interesting concept. Blue's ideas about these archetypes that represent entities or institutions in society. A lot that in and of itself borrows from Jung.

What inspired you to cover yourself with pig fat and lay down in a back alley to be licked by stray cats and dogs?

FoolofaTook 07-08-2018 02:28 AM

lard would of been more succinct

your welcome

vixnix 07-08-2018 03:07 AM

Pig fat sounded better to me, when I wrote it. I stand by my choice. Are you inviting me to a fight?

FoolofaTook 07-08-2018 03:17 AM

You think I'm playin'? You think this a game??

You better check yourself.

vixnix 07-08-2018 03:26 AM

I'm calling my cousins. You just wait right there motherfucker and we'll see what this is all about

Disco King 07-08-2018 05:01 AM

For me, it's Dexter— intelligent, nihilistic, and with a wicked sense of humour.

yeah that's right. You had better watch out, large-portioned Serb.

LaBelle 07-08-2018 02:21 PM

This is the worst clickbait ever.

Disco King 07-08-2018 06:17 PM

Imagine a Patrick Bateman who stilll lacked empathy, but also had none of the charisma, status, or competence.

Like, instead of being a yuppie by day and a serial killer by night, he furiously masturbates to cartoon torture porn by day, and furiously masturbates to cartoon torture porn by night.

Master Bateman.

LaBelle 07-09-2018 08:23 AM

Isn't that the Fight Club guy?

FoolofaTook 07-09-2018 09:26 AM

dk says cartoon torture porn like it's a bad thing

LaBelle 07-09-2018 09:42 AM

As long as the cartoons consent

fuzzyroes 07-09-2018 08:10 PM

It's like one of those surprise endings in the movies where you'd never expect or see it coming.

buzzard 07-09-2018 08:34 PM

As opposed to a surprise ending that you do expect, see coming, predict, foretell, anticipate and envision?

It's more like one of those movies where you fall asleep halfway through and never bother to finish because you didn't really care in the first place.

Disco King 07-09-2018 09:50 PM

Has CW ever clarified exactly what it is he has supposedly manipulated anybody into doing? For all his talk of treating this forum like a laboratory rat cage for his experiments and machinations, I'm not sure he's even managed to convince more than a couple of people to take his nonsense quiz.
