Least favorite fans in concert boots?

yes it’s a ram27™ thread

i hate the people screaming ‘yeehaw’ after Corgan counts off Meladori @ Double Door 95

Mals Marola 09-20-2019 10:54 AM

funnily enough, the first/only answer i could think of for this was also at Double Door, but during "Towers of Rabble"

some dude is like mimicking Billy when he's singing the chorus or whatever (at least that's what it sounds like) and this girl playfully tells him to shut up. just seemed like a lame frat boy moment during what might be the only recording of this song. in a way though, i also kind of love it

jakobtheliar 09-20-2019 03:40 PM

those harpies who ruined the final metro boot....

slunken 09-20-2019 07:06 PM

KROQ almost acoustic christmas during "one less moment"

could be worse though. i shouldn't complain. great quality. great quality screamers.

slunken 09-20-2019 07:08 PM

This is a contender for sure, even though I want to give them a pass considering the circumstances.

Brawly preemptively threatened lawsuits against John and Jane Doe for anyone attempting recordings from what I remember.

I think you can hear them almost getting caught, during Today.

houseofglass11 09-22-2019 11:20 PM

Is use of the word autism not permitted? Did I miss something?

I'll give you points for some old school netphorian MORAL OUTRAGE though

X.Y.U/Romeo Void's Never Say Never Halloween night 1998

don't quote me on this but i'm pretty sure there's a reasonably large groundswell going on for moral outrage right now

Oh, look who's taking action on quoting now.

Big Truck05 10-05-2019 12:36 AM

There's 2 for me:

X.Y.U Medley Dodger Stadium 98 The girl screaming before the song starts is insane. It's quite possibly the loudest screech you'll ever hear. "I might like you better if we slept together...

People screaming "James" after every song in '96

I wasn't offended by that post but how typical is that the one Fuzzy defender posts something like the above

Pc crunk amonk

trev 10-05-2019 12:23 PM

moral outrage and "PC"? really?

do you all think it's fine to use the r word as an insult too? or the n word?

"in many ways, the current blasé attitude towards using “autistic” or “aspergery” as an insult is akin to the way “gay” was a socially acceptable insult. It comes back to looking at marginalized groups in general, people who are never quite in the room. It’s this broader idea that these concepts such as “autistic” or “gay” just exist to insult someone without the acknowledgment that they represent actual people who deserve to be treated with respect."

VERY solid pick here. The force is strong with you, sir.

However, we have (so far) a thread winner right here. I freaking love that show, but man - there are some really, really, really bad people in that crowd. As Eddie Vedder calls them, the "Destroyers of Silence".

Cool As Ice Cream 10-05-2019 03:04 PM

what about the viper room? https://archive.org/details/tsp1998-01-15.flac16
not sure there were any fans there, though.

Shallowed 10-05-2019 06:22 PM

I hate when you can hear the fans constantly blowing air onto the microphones

That’s a different recording (of the same show).

But, this is your thread...

I could try for a “put the thing in his bag halfway through” joke, but someone else might do that better.

You too, get a pass...for now.

Don’t screw this up.

Was just thinking of the Dodger Stadium "X.Y.U." For years, I had that version from the Friends & Enemies of Modern Music leak, and it sounded like she was standing right next to whoever was recording.

When I saw this performance was included in the Adore reissue, I remember wondering if I would still be able to her that screech, and if it being gone would be like when you get a working copy of a record you owned which skipped in certain places; would the screech have become part of the song for me? Not to worry; she's still entirely audible, even if it doesn't sound quite as immediate. On a side note, I've always loved Billy's asshole-ish "yeah Happy Halloween" to whoever probably told him Happy Halloween.

They were still rude though. That's probably one of the best versions of To Sheila and a lot of it is practically drowned out by chatting. The only part of the audience on that recording that I like is the woman who goes "America, baby! America..." and that's only because it's perfectly timed for the start of the song.
