Did you pay for Solara?

Comments aside, not everyone dislikes this song, and it seems that even those who do somehow listened to it more than once.
So how many people here did really buy it?

Monthly spotify subscription doesn't count, file purchase and download only.

PuzzledMuzzle 06-10-2018 06:09 AM

Did I pay for Solara? That's like saying you pay to have a virus installed

VoxUpDoc 06-10-2018 08:30 AM

Regrettably I did just to see if the mix/sound quality was any better.

It wasn't.

pavementtune 06-10-2018 08:48 AM

I just looked how much they charge for the single track on bandcamp (USD 1,29) and found something extremely funny.

“Solara” is released via Martha’s Music under license to Napalm Records.
Napalm Records is an originally Austrian metal joint, who only got somewhat known because they also promoted far right neo nazi metal groups that nobody else was touching.

amazing. of all the joints on the planet, yea sure, pick Napalm Records, why not!:bananamac

right, forgot about that, I only thought about streaming-no-download. I guess that counts then.

T&T 06-10-2018 11:38 AM

no. I haven't bought anything since zeitgeist.

This IS fucking weird.

WeilandFan 06-10-2018 11:58 AM

I Venmoed Billy $100, James $100, Jimmy $100, and Jeff $25.

Shadaloo 06-10-2018 01:46 PM

No. Even if one likes it, it's going to be on whatever EP they're putting out so there's no point if you're capable of the slightest forethought.

artvase 06-10-2018 01:51 PM

i paid for it with my soul and the quickly diminishing faith i have left in Billy Corgan to write just one last good song

Disco King 06-10-2018 02:40 PM

Yeah, I paid for it, actually.

I paid dearly for it by suffering through a minute of it.

smashingjj 06-10-2018 04:32 PM

oh, disco king.

Corgan's Bluff 06-10-2018 06:53 PM

I downloaded the official release from YouTube. They make it so easy... :D
In 720p it might sound better than a later CD release.

Are Napalm Records distributed in the USA by the Warner Music Group?
Wonder why Warner should be otherwise mentioned in the Smashing Pumpkins music store...

eviltimeban 06-11-2018 03:30 AM

I bought it cos I liked it.

Corgan's Bluff 06-11-2018 04:20 AM

If you "liked it", you don't like it anymore, normally...

bright_doom 06-11-2018 04:27 AM

I'll buy the Ep/s if and when they come out. So long as they're not crazy Teargarden by kaleidoscope prices. Do you reckon it will get a cd release?

You can surely buy a CD-version later at Napalm Records in Austria.

They offer CD and vinyl releases.

https://shop.napalmrecords.com

They just released a collector's box with vinyl singles of Black Sabbath from the seventies.

Pressing and distribution in Europe seems to be by BMG (Bertelsmann Music Group), which ironically were also marketing the last two records of Corgan and the Pumpkins.

Corgan's Bluff 06-11-2018 05:16 AM

You can still get a shower with the Pumpkins.
At least with one of the shenanigans-versions...

There's so much shit going on with the "band"/brand, they deserve a toilet seat too...

I have no idea, figured Napalm having their hands on this explains at least why a rights joint out of Mannheim (daredo) is behind copyright infringements on youtube.

do they even still have a proper band manager/management - who was it last, Peter Katsis? - or is this done on the same amateur level as their videos now?
