i get that song in my head a lot. this is also a chance for me to bitch about how much i hate radio/single edits. the cool part is always the part they take out. it gets even cooler after the edit from that vid ends... 4:19...FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY :mad::mad::mad:

more radio edit atrocities in-cl-ude seal's "crazy" [removes the part about suicide, and the kickass outro about "them things the size of which you've never known before"], "my sharona" [in the case of this one they take out the only thing great about the song], duran duran's "ordinary world" [cuts out the lead, which isn't that long anyway and makes the song way cooler]. i'm sure there have been more but they escape me at the moment. i know this is all very interesting to everyone.

i've had a problem recently getting this fucking song out of my head thanks to one of my roommates

there is an onion av club feature called hatesong which is pretty great sometimes. there's a dean ween one about 4 non blondes that's just about perfect

anyway, i was introduced to Future of the Left/Andy Falkous via his hatesong about Mr. Big "To Be With You"

They were just a big old American FM-radio kinda rock band, and this was their ballad. This was their let’s-get-high-school-girls-to-listen-to-us moment, as well as awkward high-school boys. It’s a song that should be in the dictionary next to the word insipid. It has no redeeming qualities. I’m struggling to explain to you why I hate it, because simply listening to the song is enough. It’s like trying to satirize the presidential elections. How do you do that, when the content is there in front of you? You don’t need to find an angle. It almost doesn’t need any comment to make it funny.

A great song by band that broke up too soon, fucked over by a bad label contract basically (another classic cautionary tale to mind what you're signing). Already forgotten but they had such a strong first record and topped he canadian indie charts for a little while. Then just disintegrated. I saw them live once outside at montreal's gay festival, a great show
