Oh won’t you stay for a while
We can fail in style, I can hold your smile for a while

Ram27 07-07-2017 12:20 AM

the production on pomp is fucking horrendous but you also have to respect corgan for putting that out to close his huge, burn the lies off your soul, rock comeback album

or he's a fucking moron

Shadaloo 07-07-2017 01:05 AM

Never forget:

I tend to look at the era as Bill's last gasp of good songwriting filtered through a metric shit ton of bad production choices. A fair few enjoyable numbers on the album and residency shows, but everything done haphazardly.

TuralyonW3 07-07-2017 03:05 AM

Yeah but when you have to cherry pick the good stuff that's the problem

dreams of glass 07-07-2017 03:48 AM

it seems like way longer than ten years ago

not sure what that says about my mental state

dreams of glass 07-07-2017 03:50 AM

I can admit to you guys I didn't know the doomsday clock was actually real, until recently

currently set at two and a half minutes to midnight

That song had so much more balls live early. Shame about the production and vocals on record. It's like a retard mixed it.

Thinking on it, this was the last good song put out under name Smashing Pumpkins.

This entire session is really great, especially in headphones. I always thought they sounded like a cyber garage band here. Such a huge sound performed by a band wearing hospital scrubs.

to my perhaps flawed recollection, that woozy effect crept in around adore (see: blank page) and became more frequent during live machina

despite these prior appearances, i associate it almost exclusively with the emotional and tonal frigidity of zeitgeist, when it seemed ubiquitous

cork_soaker 07-07-2017 03:19 PM

thanks a lot, jeff

smashingjj 07-07-2017 03:39 PM

never heard of it

TuralyonW3 07-07-2017 03:48 PM

i think it's a grain delay or something like that.
the only guitar part i can think of in Blank Page right now just sounds like it's deeply chorused.
