redbreegull 04-22-2014 11:54 PM

sounds like the indie precursor to all 90s guitar pop

The exploding boy 04-23-2014 01:07 PM

I can't abide the use of the word awesome to describe any Canadian music.

Leonard cohen kicks you in the groin

redbreegull 04-24-2014 04:16 PM

I do kind of dig this, I've listened to First Day of Spring a few times today. I'm gonna download the album now.

Depends what phase of his career we're talking about. ALso cohen is more a lyricist than a musician.

Obviously there are exceptions but they are too few to change the fact that as a general rule, we canadians shouldn't pick up instruments.

MusicMan4 04-25-2014 12:17 PM

AND IF I DONT MAAAAAAAAAAKE IT KNOOOOOOW THAT
I LOVED YOU AWL ALONG

Shallowed 04-25-2014 04:27 PM

I think exploding boy is just sore about Nickleback and Justin Bieber.

The exploding boy 04-25-2014 04:37 PM

If only these were our only offenses.

There is not enough good music from Canada to make up for all the shit.

This is my opinion and I respect it.

Shallowed 04-26-2014 03:16 AM

Alanis Morissette? Avril Lavigne? Rush? They're not bad, are they?

Trotskilicious 04-26-2014 03:18 AM

avril is really bad what the shit, she even married nickel back

The exploding boy 04-26-2014 04:16 PM

I don't care for Rush at all but yet I find throwing them in with Alanis Morissette and Avril Lavigne is still kinda criminal.

and yeah I can't wait to see douchebag and the slut's babies. And by can't I mean I hope to be spared the sight of this grotesquerie.

It's a good tune, The same song was on an album before this one but was reworked for the major label release. The major label one I posted is way better in my opinion

Did you happen to find the album? It was pretty hard to find online last time I checked. The album also features an awesome cover of Cyndi Laupers time after time- It's definitely worth checking out, I was trying to find it on Youtube to share here but no one had it uploaded.

so basically you're saying that this music from the 90s sounds like music from the 90s

slunken 04-26-2014 10:27 PM

this argument or whatever that is happening about canadian music is retarded. of course only the major blowout material would make it to the states/the rest of the world.

for example there are tons of amazing australian bands from the 80s that only made very minor impressions in the states/overall charts.

split enz, mondo rock, marc hunter/dragon, matt finish, the church, nzpop

but then again what everyone knows is INXS

Yeah I'd put them up there with some of the greats like Celine Dion, got a problem with that?

Trotskilicious 04-26-2014 11:30 PM

japandroids are from vancouver, where it's raining (oh-oah), and they don't give a fuck because they're in love with you tonight

Shallowed 04-27-2014 01:06 AM

slunken 04-27-2014 11:00 AM

It's all the same to me suck it

slunken 04-27-2014 11:16 AM

Really though I always thougt "Aussie pop" was an umbrella term. It's not?

slunken 04-27-2014 11:52 AM

I just double checked and Aussie pop includes NZ bands but to be fair above I wrote "Australian bands". My bad. Good eye.

MusicMan4 04-27-2014 12:03 PM
