BUILT TO SPILL!!!!

Fuck man, can't believe I haven't listened to these guys until now.

This song is everything I love about the 90's.

Jeez fuzzhole it's almost like all these "garbage hipster bands" you've been trashing for a half decade now are actually good and all the people you insisted were just pretending to like them for reasons you never entirely articulated actually liked them cause they enjoyed the music.

lol fuzzhole

The album Keep It Like A Secret has some of my best fave guitar compositions in all of rock, begins to approach Siamese Dream levels of texture/layering/interplay

What are the best tracks on this album? I think I should be into Built to Spill but I've never been able to really dig into any of their records. I think their album title "Perfect From Now On" is a pavement reference, and they're definitely in the same wheelhouse.

back in college days there was a streaming service by Real Audio, and i would listen to a channel that played Time Trap once in a while. i found the track was cool and it convinced me enough to buy the album.

Perfect From Now On feels this way for me too. Randy Described Eternity->I Would Hurt a Fly is such a great opening pair of songs

Yeah, the Pavement vibe is definitely strong, but I like that they're more focused on guitar driven melodies than Pavement

smashingjj 07-19-2018 10:21 PM

Whereas Pavement is your typical bagpipes driven melodies band

The entire Keep it Like a Secret album will rip your tits

"Time Trap", "Else", "Carry the zero" are all great stand outs.

I always thought "made up dreams' from Perfect From Now On was a masterpiece

'i'm already gone now
you were outside just waiting
i'm already nothing
you just noticed me fading

it takes a lot to make me crazy
and a lot is always going on'

yeah.
