Michael looks a chipmunk that works in conversion therapy.

This, however, is simply one man's opinion and is not intended as a criticism of Michael nor of chipmunks in general.

Here's an equally awkward picture of my face, which you can also only see half of! Together we make a whole awkward face! :D

And yes, that is an actual mini ball pit in the living room. Don't be jealous.

I know your face, biiiitch. (:

Better keep that ball pit private for your little one's sake. Public ball pits must be one of the dirtiest places a kid can hang out in.
I remember the smell in this particular one. It was like a cross between old socks and Cheetos. Man, that was gross.

ilikeplanets 03-11-2019 11:13 PM

Yeah, I'm not much of a "shared toys" kind of mom. I wouldn't take her to Chuck E Cheese if it still existed, because of the 100% chance she'd get sick and the almost as high chance of a pedophile being there. Every time I've taken her to a kid's play place, I can actually SEE the grime on the toys/equipment, and she's gotten some (thankfully) minor illness. So I'm waiting until she's a little heartier and have just turned the living room into an actual playhouse. I'm almost jealous of how cool it is.

And I know you know my face, but I wanted to force you to see it again. That applies to everyone. =]

My kids played in public ball pits and play spaces and didn’t get sick - but all of my friends whose kids went to daycare, picked up sicknesses from daycare. So many toddlers all putting things in their mouths and then putting them down again, for another toddler to pick up. Plus, on bad weather days they’re all cooped up together and there’s always that one parent whose kid is not quite well...but they’ve run out of leave and their boss is already angry at them for taking the last three days off, so they dump and run :( Not my idea of a good time.

I'm dreading preschool to be honest. But I have to contain that in front of her so she isn't afraid to socialize. I just wish I didn't have to hear about things like measles, tetanus, and flu deaths on the news. I vaccinated her but there's always a chance and I hate it. Plus I get sick when she does, and it's not like I can sleep it off. Other people are gross but maybe she won't think so and will blaze through childhood. Sure hope so cuz school gets closer every day. Some days I'm ready for it though lol GET OUT, LOVE YOU.

myosis 03-12-2019 12:40 PM

the good news is they are building their immune systems.

Oh preschools are different to daycare anyway, my kids never picked anything up from preschool. Actually my elder son went to a Jewish preschool because when we arrived in sydney it was the only one with vacancies for 3 year olds. He used to wear a kippah sometimes, and on a Fridays they were asked to bring a flower and a coin, and the Rabbi would come and talk to them, and they’d eat challah. It was pretty cute. I sent him to socialise, too. But preschools run 9-3, and children only tend to go 2 or 3 days a week, and they usually have a parent at home on those days (because the shorter hours don’t really allow for a commute/work day), so if they’re sick, they tend to stay home.

Daycare centres run 6:30am-6:30pm usually, and a lot of kids are there start to finish, 5 days a week. Those are the places where illnesses tend to spread, because parents are usually working full time, and they run out of leave and send sick kids in, so they can get to work. :(

Totally different places I reckon...my kids tried both, at different times, and both of them hated daycare, but really enjoyed preschool... you will both love preschool I reckon.

ilikeplanets 03-12-2019 03:34 PM

Yeah, all my friends that have had to send kids to daycare are constantly talking about how sick they all are. Ew. But HOPEFULLY preschool enforces the rules of sending the kids who are projectile vomiting or have 105 fevers home. It think preschool will overall be a good experience though, because lil planets likes other people and I know she'll eagerly absorb all the stuff she's taught. I'm sure I get repetitive, but at her age I think that's the best way to teach. She's fascinated by other kids (but sometimes totally ignores them lol), and it will be nice to see her having friends. Maybe the structure of a classroom will help tame some of her temper, but that could just be either innate or a lack of maturity. I hope it's just a stage, because her father was a real asshole and I don't want to be reminded of him when I look at her, which I luckily never am. She's prettier than both of us, dunno where she got her good looks.

vixnix 03-12-2019 04:20 PM

I miss those days! I hope she likes it as much as my kids did! We made a couple of lifelong family friends through the preschools my kids went to...hopefully it will be the same for you...

I just had the first parent teacher interview for my younger son, yesterday. He’s going to my old primary school, which is weird. They call teachers by their first names, now. His teacher is so lovely...I feel grateful he’s in her class. So that’s nice. I don’t feel that way every year lol
