Wasn't the single slated for October or something? I thought the official word is that the album would drop near the end of the year, has there been any updates at all?

sjpaterra 11-27-2015 09:01 AM

i thought billy cancelled the album and cancelled the machina reissue?

Cool As Ice Cream 11-27-2015 09:44 AM

i thought the official word is that fuzzy is a retard and should not create any threads anywhere, ever and only post in his own super retard thread: http://forums.netphoria.org/showthread.php?t=182692 has there been any updates at all?

He's contractually obligated to put out another new album for EMI, perhaps he may have scrapped the bunch of songs he was planning for it. I really haven't checked for any updates at all though, figured one of you guys would be in the know

Cool As Ice Cream 11-27-2015 10:24 AM

you're contractually obligated to not post outside of your own super thread. figured you would be in the know

hi Billy

Woody 11-28-2015 05:06 AM

I think when Billy quit social media and started selling other people's trash for profit, D4N and the Machina reissue went completely out the window, along with any remaining semi-intelligent fanbase.

(Or they just pushed D4N back to promote Run to Me/MTAE a little longer.)

sjpaterra 11-28-2015 12:51 PM

well now he gets to make money and he doesn't even have to create ANYTHING

I wish I got paid for someone else's work... then i'd be like D'arcy

sjpaterra 11-28-2015 12:52 PM

...or BILLY??!

The Internet is your friend...

The only downside being there is no ‘hurry’ for this album to arrive this year as planned. As people smarter than I think the year ahead needs the road clear for MTAE to gain traction. And with a new video being commissioned for DRUM + FIFE, those aren’t just pretty words. Still, I’d expect a first single by Fall, with the album to follow thereafter. That puts the timetable then at: record April-July, tour US (should proposed dates hold), and finish record by mid-Sept.
So, long story short, it appears the single could have theoretically been out by now, but more than likely it'll come out next year. Billy had to clear his schedule for the huge roll out of the "Run2Me" music video and People and Their Cars!

Leave it to Billy announce that he'll release two albums in 2015 only to release one in 2014 and (presumably) one in 2016 while releasing no albums in 2015.

last time public comment i recall about the new album release date was in late July

Quote:

What’s the status on the next album?
It’s almost done. There’s probably six to eight weeks of work left until we finish. Right now the record company is leaning towards the beginning of next year
last time public comment about the machina reissue was in that interview too

Quote:

Is the reissue project still on? Is there a reissue of Machina: The Machines of God coming?
Yes. The problem is, and I can’t talk about the specifics, but we’re in a dispute with what is now the parent company, which is Universal. Everything has been put on hold. If I told you the truth of it, you’d laugh your ass off, because it’s a classic record company story. I feel bad, because people on Twitter keep asking about it, and people seem to have come around on that record in the last five years. It sounds contemporary again for whatever reason. I do want to put it out, and it takes a lot of time and effort to go through all the tapes. I’ve invested a good 300 hours in preparing the project, and now it’s totally on hold. It is what it is. I’m not mad at anybody. I don’t have time to be mad.
