Pumpkins to play 20th anniversary shows

per their myspace bulletin:

To celebrate the band's 20th anniversary, The Smashing Pumpkins will be playing select U.S. cities in August and September of 2008.

No dates or cities have been announced but expect the band to revisit a few specific places that were missed during the last U.S. tour...

Caine Walker 05-22-2008 11:44 AM

i'd be willing to put some people up for the night/s that the chicago show happens. just throwing that out there.

waltermcphilp 05-22-2008 11:46 AM

if there isn't a detroit show i'd definitely consider chicago.

MonteLDS 05-22-2008 12:00 PM

Pizza Club 05-22-2008 12:44 PM

Awesome. My birthday is at the end of August. There's no way I'm not going.

daevil1 05-22-2008 12:46 PM

You think they will play MSG or a smaller venue like Hammerstein in NYC?

skipgo 05-22-2008 12:47 PM

In some ways it makes more sense for them to play smaller venues, but in other ways, I'd like them to play larger ones so it won't be quite as hard to make sure I get a ticket.

wounded 05-22-2008 12:50 PM

i'm thinking they will do smaller places. hope i can make it to chicago

sofa, my ass. my goal is to see how many hot bodies fit into my bed. my conservative guess is about 12.

spidersoma 05-22-2008 01:54 PM

well i wonder where they will pop up at in texas. they played the three best markets here: houston, dallas, austin.

hopefully this will be where we see the pre-gish/gish/sd setlists billy was discussing with trufans.

monte, better save up that vacation time!

guh. everyone listen up: THE ERA SHOWS ARE NOT HAPPENING. corgan does this shit everytime: he talks about something that sounds fantastic to him, the people around him, and the people who fucking worship him. then he gets distracted, gets bored with it, and hopes that the rest of us forget about it. then some creep tracks him down, interrogates him, and he treads water on the subject in an attempt to not seem like an ass.
