|

It Follows - 3/5
Decent film, but I expected more. Didn't find it really scary or tense... |
haha amazing, I think Frozen is the only film so far where we share an opinion how good it is
in summmmmmeeeeeeeer! |

In Real Life
I think this is the worst documentary I've ever seen. The reviews on IMDB pretty much say it all http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3101474/reviews?ref_=tt_urv |
leviathan
it was decent enough. interesting setting. typical grim, plodding russian film. |
what we do in the shadows: clever moments throughout but probably not one i'd see out a second time

why do the dinosaurs from this jurassic park look more fake than the ones from the original jurassic park that came out 22 years ago
|
because they were mainly animatronics and i'd guess in this one they're all cgi
|
A rhetorical question is a figure of speech in the form of a question that is asked in order to make a point rather than to elicit an answer.
|
Even the best CGI is only "really good CGI". A good practical effect will haunt your nightmares |
well yeah but gollum is one of the only examples where CGI is better than practical because of the range of emotional expression. i mean you just cannot do that with a puppet.
|
i have to say that game of thrones cgi is particularily impressive especially for a TV show
|
cgi yoda was 10x better
*impales self on geek cross |
Tom Hardy's myspace pictures are amazing.
|
i prefer to call him Tom Brady

most times it's difficult to tell it's even cgi, unless it's A DRAGON or something |

Jurassic World - 4/5
You could nitpick this film to hell and back, but just doesn't change the fact that it's a lot of goddamn fun!! |
Stoker
anyone watched this? it's directed by park chan-wook (the korean guy who did Oldboy). pitched as a "psychological thriller", it's not very psychological and doesn't offer much thrill. plot goes - there's a family with mom, dad, and daughter. dad dies in supposed car crash, and his creepy estranged brother suddenly enters the family. it's all superbly predictable, but the movie's intertwined with fabulous moments and flawlessly executed scenes. it's very successful in using a cinematic language that's very beautiful to watch. wether it's editing, colorization, camera work - it all comes together very meticulously at certain moments and builds up an atmosphere. at its better moments, it does what i love about korean\japanese cinema very well. at it's bad moments, it's hindered by a very predictable and mediocre script, with weird\disturbing korean flourishes. |
That poltergeist remake was awful. :[ I didn't expect miracles.
Watched Little Jerusalem (La Petite Jerusalem) (2005) |
i like park chan-wook. will have to check out stoker. sympathy for mr. vengeance is a fav of mine.

Jurassic World
Blah blah blah dinosaurs blah blah blah Chris Pratt blah blah blah perfunctory cautionary tale blah blah blah Bryce Dallas Howard doing a Julianne Moore impression blah blah blah annoying kids blah blah blah Vincent D'onofrio bobs his head a lot blah blah blah who gives a shit about character development or story when DINOS ARE FUCKING SHIT UP blah blah blah nothing you haven't seen before but it's well-made. I honestly enjoyed this movie more than Godzilla from last year. B- |
