...reminds me of the Zeitgeist cover.

What...using two different fonts?

Nah just kidding

It's the best looking album/single cover though since Machina.

AveryLoren 02-15-2018 02:34 AM

Ugh, looks stupid to me. I feel like I have been following a different band than everyone else. SP to me has always been this massively angry and depressed thing. Even during Gish and SD. This is just a dumb title and the imagery is already cringe-worthy.

shadow47 02-15-2018 02:35 AM

Will it ever be remotely cool to $upport the boys club sausage party SP has become again?

DemonUnicorns 02-15-2018 02:35 AM

Title is dumb, definitely.

Terrible artwork, terrible name. Hope it’s just for the tour not an album cover.

FoolofaTook 02-15-2018 03:11 AM

TSP has always had bad art.

vajohna 02-15-2018 03:19 AM

MCIS, Adore, and Machina had decent art direction to me. Really enjoyed how photo-heavy Aeroplane was

amoergosum 02-15-2018 03:27 AM

The D'Arcy situation + name of the tour =

eviltimeban 02-15-2018 05:16 AM

Could be the name of tour / single combo. Wouldn't say the album is anywhere near ready yet.

I think a song called "Shiny and oh so Bright" might be interesting - major chords, "Today"-esque, dreamy and positive.

Goddamn it we need a bit of positivity at the moment.

Ram27 02-15-2018 05:45 AM

Horrible name. Reminds me of that 'Shamrocks' thing from 2013

I do hope a new song drops at noon though, if only for some new JC parts

Morlock 02-15-2018 05:54 AM

I like the color scheme and the idea to go with art deco, but the top font ("The Smashing Pumpkins") is a mess, and the artwork looks like little effort went into it.

"Shiny and oh so bright" doesn't sound like a Smashing Pumpkins phrase to me. It sounds like cheap irony, which doesn't fit the body of work. Strange choice if you want to go for nostalgia.

shiny and oh so bright is literally the worst tour name i could ever imagine

another cringeworthy moment. good job, billy

Funbags 02-15-2018 08:18 AM

The Meta Machina Mystery continues.

Disco King 02-15-2018 08:21 AM

Who would write an elegy to a monument? Why not write the elegy to the thing or person that is being monumentalized?

For a moment there I thought it was figuratively the worst you could imagine.

Thank you for clearing this up.

Funbags 02-15-2018 08:24 AM

I like the art deco style, but it doesn't really scream 90s nostalgia if that's what this tour is about.

It does seem Zeitgeisty, or maybe Zero singley.

whywontyoulistn 02-15-2018 08:35 AM

This is just a copy/paste effort of art-deco tropes, thrown together with little meaning or thought. It also vaguely resembles Nazi posters/art from the '30s, promoting the master race, which is a great way to get your popularity up.

Then there's the MS Paint SP heart, what's up with that?

s0ss 02-15-2018 09:08 AM

It's gonna be great with the red pillers.

MyKeyZ 02-15-2018 09:09 AM

That modernized SP logo looks like poop. Would have been better to just use the regular SP heart logo and perhaps the MCIS era font for the name if this is Billy's big reunion moneymaker. This looks lame to me. Terrible tour/song name and uninspired artwork. The Billy Corgan Show, round 4? What the hell round are we in now?

Dull And Oh So Dark is more like it

it screams Reichstag nostalgia, very hip now.

s0ss 02-15-2018 09:14 AM

I just noticed the small "The" hiding in the S

If I didn't know the band, I'd think it said The Smashing Puvvkins. Seriously, what is up with the 'm' and 'p'.

New Art Rioter 02-15-2018 09:26 AM

So odd that the only Pumpkins comparison in terms of this style of artwork is Zeitgeist - are they trying to make you think of the first 'reunion' deliberately? Bad call. Name of tour is cringe inducing

I thought it was STHEMASHING PUWKINS

Plus the S at the beginning of Smashing and S at the end of Puwkins are completely different looking. Guess they didn't want the S's being two similar cuz then it would look like a broken up swastika.

It’s so unlike post-00’s Billy to make a bad call.
