...damn it:

"Audio unavailable in your region"

smashboy 10-05-2017 08:25 AM

Is it already available ?

Not working here neither.

Somebody can rip it ?

dpmurph17 10-05-2017 08:59 AM

Thanks amoergosum

I was able to find all of the links to the album tracks from the NPR site. To avoid breaking rules of the board, PM me or recommend how to share.

Archer is incredible

dpmurph17 10-05-2017 09:42 AM

Without the nervous rushing from the Berlin stream, the album tracks sound quite good to me. Nothing to complain about with production other than heavy on the strings in places (Shiloh). I think this is WPC's best work in quite awhile. If he can relax and play the album with older songs like Tryx3, it will be a great show.

The Processional (I couldn't find Iha's contribution unless it is the continuous guitar riff in the entire song)

reprise85 10-05-2017 10:05 AM

yeah guys, don't share rips in threads please

reprise85 10-05-2017 10:16 AM

certainly this is the best thing he's put out since zeitgeist

amoergosum 10-05-2017 10:56 AM

I just listened to Shilo.

Has Billy ever recorded a song in 7/4 before ?

jczeroman 10-05-2017 11:22 AM

Mostly enjoyed and found the production refreshing.

Favourites: zowie, spaniards, archer

Meh: Processional, half-life, amarinthe, mandarynne, shiloh

Shit: aeronaut, the long goodbye, antietam

DaveKShape 10-05-2017 11:29 AM

It's pleasant to listen to. Songs aren't bad. Nothing truly memorable, and I just wish he would focus less on singing "correctly" and sing with emotion, but he hasn't done that for years.

Not bad. Not great.

Also in the context of his other recent work this is definitely a step back in the right direction.

Amarinthe is cool. That guitar line is really nice and reminds me of Gish. He hasn't put that kind of atmospheric subtlety in a song in well over a decade.

However, it does get a little repetitive. Wish he had put James' guitar part in from the plainsong song version. Track would've benefitted from Jimmy too.

Overall, the album is better than I expected it to be. Aeronaut was not a good representation of the overall package.

Big Truck05 10-05-2017 01:04 PM

Archer is the best song on the album

amoergosum 10-05-2017 01:10 PM

Am I the only one who appreciates the 7/4 time signature in Shilo?

...;)

Green Eyes 10-05-2017 01:38 PM

Please PM the songs.

behived 10-05-2017 02:00 PM

can't listen to the songs here...

Skradgee 10-05-2017 02:25 PM

could try a VPN to change where the site thinks you're located

dpmurph17 10-05-2017 03:01 PM

I guess Iha's work on Processional is at 3:14 these minor atmospheric electric guitar melodies...these are not so high quality MP3s so maybe more noticeable in the HQ version.

I'm really digging the sequence of the tracks....strong opening and strong closing.

Green Eyes 10-05-2017 03:04 PM

These songs are quite lovely actually. Solid album.

Forgotten Child 10-05-2017 03:04 PM

I only hope this album gets really good reviews so that Billy would release The Chicago Kid album!

VoxUpDoc 10-05-2017 03:06 PM

Would love a PM if there's one doing the rounds.
