Just dying is kinda lame imo

Johnson and Trump will never show you a defeated look. Never apologize or say they're wrong. It's why bigots and angry old white people vote for them.

Squish Squash 04-06-2020 08:19 PM

Isn't Johnson a lot better than Trump though? I know he's a piece of shit but honestly I feel the same about almost all american politicians (Bernie, AOC, Ilhan Omar and other progressives are exceptions).

Disco King 04-06-2020 08:25 PM

Well, conservatives in most Western countries would be considered socialists in the USA.

The very fact that Johnson is still a supporter of socialized medicine (even if he and his party seem to want privatization to creep into it here and there) would make him too far left for establishment democrats. "hOw aRE yOu GoiNg tO pAy fOR ThaT?"

Squish Squash 04-06-2020 08:42 PM

Yeah, in that case, it's highly ironic liberals would wish death on him but support jackasses like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi.

I am left-wing before anyone attacks me for this post. But I hate the democratic establishment.

redbreegull 04-06-2020 09:00 PM

Johnson is, for all intents and purposes, decidedly to the right of Joe Biden.

Squish Squash 04-06-2020 09:05 PM

Biden is basically a republican. His track record is pretty horrendous.

ovary 04-06-2020 09:06 PM

i kind of like boris. what a character! he wrote a novel about himself. i appreciate his doofishness.

He has advocated cutting social security for years, has bad polices on the climate, favors corporations, doesn't support universal healthcare, thinks marijuana is a "gateway" drug, and has a bad record on race, foreign policy, and LGQBT issues. That sounds pretty conservative to me.

no... he's basically a boomer liberal Democrat whose policies over the years have reflected the views of his constituency– other boomer liberal Democrats

run2pee 04-06-2020 09:27 PM

Plus isn’t he credibly accused of sex assault at this point

redbreegull 04-06-2020 09:28 PM

ground control to the left wing, come in left wing. I think we've lost them, sir

redbreegull 04-06-2020 09:31 PM

and regardless of his neoliberalism, he isn't a fucking populist protectionist, or a national chauvinist who abets white supremacy. he's nothing like Trump or Johnson

Yeah, it's really frustrating that the media picks and chooses when to get outraged about that. I'm not saying Biden is guilty, but it should be examined at least.

He is too close to Trump in too many ways for me.

He doesn't have a good record on the environment, race or LGBT issues, like I said. Is he better than Trump on those issues? Yeah of course who isn't? But I don't like having to accept his shitty views just because he's not Trump in those categories. Additionally, he is very much against moving away from this corporate rule we have going on in this country. Not truly addressing economic inequality or the control corporations have over this country will ensure we continue to have this massive class disparity and institutional racism. Still insisting marijuana is a gateway drug and should be illegal in 2020 is a big no no for me as well. It also makes me uncomfortable the way he acts around others in terms of touching them, and he has been accused of rape. He also seems to be declining significantly mentally. Even if he's innocent of rape, those two things makes him a liability in the general, as Trump will attack him nonstop on that. It doesn't matter that Trump is probably senile and almost certainly a serial rapist, he has no shame and sense of hypocrisy. He is also going to attack Biden on his votes for the Iraq War and various trade agreements, which will be a big blow for Biden's chances in the midwest in particular, should he get the nomination. I don't think people realize how many people like me are unwilling to vote for either Biden or Trump. I don't identify with the Democratic party any longer, they are far too right wing with the exception of the Squad and Bernie if you count him as a Democrat, along with a few others.

I also don't trust Biden on foreign policy. He voted for the Iraq War and was part of an administration that had a very aggressive foreign policy. Enough with war. Sure Trump is bad on foreign policy and likes bombing people too, but we've already established Trump is evil.

I agree with you at about .1% and this is one of those time I agree with you

Squish Squash 04-06-2020 10:01 PM

Welp

redbreegull 04-06-2020 10:05 PM

I mean.... if you can't choose the lesser of two evils, especially when the degree of evil is at such a large discrepancy, that's your moral failing, not Joe Biden's.

redbreegull 04-06-2020 10:06 PM

ftr not voting for Biden against Trump is literally fucking insane

fortunately polls show that most Dems will vote for whoever the nominee is. the left seems to be under some kind of delusion that they hold the keys to the kingdom. there are SO many more moderate Dems than progressives, the attitude is frankly hilarious. There are more Biden supporters who won't vote for Sanders than vice versa.

Sanders performed pretty poorly throughout this primary season compared to 2016. Lots of people who preferred Sanders to Clinton in 2016 preferred Biden to Sanders in 2020. If you can't win an election, you can't win an election. Biden seems to be the more electable candidate

Might want to look into overhauling the federal electoral system before November comes along if you're ruling out the idea of just bucking up and picking the lesser of two evils like it's the ravages of chemotherapy versus death via bowel cancer.

Except he isn't a republican. He isn't a fascist or a pro Confederate or a trump supporter.

Saying he's a republican is ridiculous. There's a big difference between moderate Dems and the scum that runs the GOP

I am no Biden fan. But he's definitely not a republican
