Ah, I know I'll get bashed because of me saying this, but I think I enjoy this album. The drumming could be a bit better, but overall, it's sorta good.

byrne really is a jerk. probably couldnt flip his burgers in time. ive never heard him not play at least a few BPMs fast, and he's incredibly boring as all hell. nothing a all interesting about anything he tries to do

I'm usually the first to defend the new Pumpkins...I actually liked Zeitgeist...but I'm about halfway through Oceania and I'm just not liking it. At all. The songs sound half-assed but over-produced and Billy has zero emotion in his vocals.

I hate to say it, as I have always given Billy the benefit of the doubt, but unless the last 4 songs are amazing, this album is just not good. I think the problem is the "best album since MCIS" hype. This is NOT better than anything the Pumpkins have released.

That soloing throughout the entirety of quasar is really fucking annoying. And of course, god awful dynamics from the drums. They actually, production wise, increase the volume knob on his snare drum roll, rather than having him actually play the swell naturally.. It's cheap. Jimmy could do that in one take, hack. If you're going to try to sound like jimmy, then fucking play like him.

if you think anyone can play like one of the five best drummers since the dawn of punk rock, if not all time, then your expectations will never be fulfilled.

this album would be really good without the drumming. i cannot simply get over how terrible he is. it's insulting to anyone who takes the time to listen to drumz instead of just melting all the instrument takes into one listen and saying "he's soooo good and fast!!" fuck, i hate it.

it's actually quite good, but because of the drum tracks, it's probably unlistenable now.

I love jimmy but I also liked adore.. There were some great drum tracks on that record. How'd that happen? Good drummers were hired. Mike is just not a good drummer. No sense of what thefuck he's doing at all. He even makes straight eight notes sound like soulless out of time shit. See his 6/8 feel on violet rays. It's awful.
