I can't get over how amazing El Sol is

especially the earlier versions. when JC goes to the ride and starts playing little jazzy diddles and corgan assures me that we were meant to be just right. just warm breezy guitar and sunshine.

it's all i wanted....you and me

whoever that is that picks me up on every time I post the opening line of Chrysanthemum, hello, thank you for your service

cued

Ram27 09-30-2020 03:07 AM

also i've been trying to learn The Empty Sea and FUCK ME jimmy goes off at the end!

also maybe i'm dumb but do that and chrysanthemum have weird...time signatures? paging russ et al

~~~~
also does anyone perchance know where to get the video of the next show on this tour..... http://www.splra.org/wiki/index.php?...Zwan2001-11-18
El Sol is one of the best songs on MSotS for sure.
VoxUpDoc 09-30-2020 05:41 AM
Didn’t Billy confirm there was no soundboard / higher quality recording of those early Zwan shows?
That’ll be another fuck you, Bill!
Glasshouse beginning to end is one of the best SP/Corgan albums. Zwan is more SP than any of the post-ZG stuff.
Funbags 09-30-2020 06:16 AM
Fucking grieving what this band could have been.
Yeah I remember that IG story.
totally agree with every part of this
If you apply his shit about how SP can encompass anything [or whatever it was, you know, to justify mike and nicole in 2011. i slept 3 hours i can't remember shit], then why not have his weird happy christian phase be that? when he still let himself write good guitar songs with other musicians in the room
That’s almost as good as the time I found every reference Billy has made about guys with beards
I'm a self taught drum dummy but the time signatures in Chrysanthemum aren't that weird. The song for the most part is 4/4 with some bars in the pre-chorus 6/4.
Also for fucks sake this song kicks so much ass. Why in the fuck did Billy retire this song after 4 shows and never release a proper studio recording of it? Or better yet, pro-record those early shows because the energy here is great!
I've asked Billy a few times via Twitter and IG about a studio recording of Chrystanthemum and he's confirmed on multiple occasions it exists, hopefully it's not just some poorly recorded acoustic demo.
Well, is january 2020 and I'm listening this nice song
Shadaloo 10-01-2020 02:01 PM
Just to bodder my toes
killtrocity 10-01-2020 05:10 PM
Wish Zwan was on Spotify. It's past summer tho and I have no desire to listen to MSOTS
jakobtheliar 10-01-2020 07:32 PM
Edit. Nevermind. I don't know what I was thinking.
run2pee 10-02-2020 12:31 AM
That’s not zwan.
That’s “HONESTLY,” the hot new single by BILLY CORGAN of SMASHING PUMPKINS FAME’s brand new band called ... wait is this right? Swan? Is this a typo?
Zer0 Hour 10-02-2020 12:55 AM
Love this track. Much better than anything Bill has put out in the past decade.
Brisk 10-04-2020 08:20 PM
fuck yeah great band, post more vids.
Funbags 10-04-2020 09:10 PM
Zwan could have been the Wings to the Pumpkins' Beatles. I've said it before and I will die on this hill.
This song shreds so hard!
Tremendous drumming from Jimmy on this one. The fills from 1:27 to 1:32 are some of the most beautiful and complex tasty fills.
Followed by classic Bill ripping it on the solo.
Dope riff.
Dust my broom!
Ram27 10-05-2020 04:10 AM
^ love that gig. jimmy is fucking FEELING it all through, he's just so casually ripping through the set. i know he does that all the time, but trust me, i've masturbated to too many of these -- this one's special
Ram27 10-05-2020 04:12 AM
Ram27 10-05-2020 04:13 AM
