Let's hope so. I'll probably be moving to a new city soon so hopefully that will make for some excitement/fun

Things are likely to be less than ideal at best but more likely bad for a while before that can happen tho

Thinking about New Orleans

The majority of them have probably been embarrassing. I wish I felt like I contributed more here. I certainly post less than I would if I wasn't always second guessing myself because I'm afraid of everyone

The first 1K took 16 years so who really knows? Middle age? Death? Homelessness? Anything is possible. Hopefully to better times than this one tho

New Orleans is my fave all time city

Thought of moving there a butt ton of times

It’s like the only place i ever went where i felt like being authentically myself at all times was not only possible, it was a requirement from my fellow beings

New Orleans is one of my all time favorite cities as well. So many people get stuck in the Quarter but I like getting out to the Garden District, Uptown, Mid-City and Bywater. Maybe I'll start a New Orleans thread.

Please make that thread. I need input from people who know more about the city than I do. I've only been twice but fell hard for it the first time I went and have wanted to live there ever since. Now that I have no reason not to it feels like a good next step. I don't know anything about what it's like to try to find work out there though. I'm a little afraid of the bugs and the summers too

I get this. It has so much character. I'm sure if I do end up there I'll begin to see the things I don't like about it but I just love all that culture and tradition and history

And diversity. Goddamn is Portland boring

i'm about 2 hrs from New Orleans and I gotta say I'm not sure if I'd ever want to live there

No but the song I'm listening to reminds me a little of Devo. I like it. I haven't lived here for long and haven't gotten out as much as I should have during that time

crime rate, parking rates, cost of living, not to mention the distance below water level which turned Katrina into a city-wide evacuation

& also, it kinda smells like shit

like i said, it's fun to visit

I hear people complain about cost of living but it seems so cheap to me coming from Chicago/Los Angeles/Portland. Am I missing something? I saw a two or three bedroom house in a gated community for like $650 a month or something. Are these just in places that no one wants to live or what?

I don't know, were the words "ninth ward" involved, lol?
