I Know What You Did Last Chat Thread

So I'm going to Maine in a couple days for my sister's wedding.
Sorta afraid of it going horribly wrong... you know, divorced parents who hate each other forced to be together and all of that
Also don't want to leave my cat
Haven't been on a plane since 2007
Going to be 10 degrees and all I have is a hoodie

On the plus side... assuming there will be an open bar

ohnoitsbonnie 03-08-2017 12:54 AM

Got someone to take care of the cat?

reprise85 03-08-2017 12:56 AM

no i don't like someone in my house because i am a slob and also neurotic so i'm leaving her with a bunch of food and water and two litter boxes. it's 4 days. :/

LaBelle 03-08-2017 07:36 AM

I usually leave my cat at the vet they have a "hotel for pets" service for when people travel, and it's not that expensive.

Isn't there something similar there?

Cool As Ice Cream 03-08-2017 07:56 AM

yes but it's $275 per night

LaBelle 03-08-2017 08:01 AM

Jesus... I pay R$ 50 (US$ 16) per night here, it's totally worth the peace of mind.

Cool As Ice Cream 03-08-2017 08:09 AM

i just bought more cats in order to demonstrate how much money i can miss when i go away on holiday
it is important that the people from the cat hotel and the neighbourhood know this

LaBelle 03-08-2017 09:57 AM

More progress with the wall cat, today she was meowing for food. I brought her cat food and set it on the ground close to me, and sat there waiting for her move.

She did get braver and came to eat it, at which point I finally was able to touch her and stayed there a little bit petting her.

This is the longest I ever took to befriend a stray cat.

my cat would sit for 4 days without eating or pissing or shitting, miserable and scared. she's very sensitive. i was going to get someone to come in just once to check up on her, but i have a problem with letting people into my apartment when i'm not there and i'm not ready to face that yet. i have a problem with others being in there at all, whether I'm there or not, but without me there triggers the fuck out of me.

i've only been to one other one and it was alright

reprise85 03-08-2017 12:57 PM

i got pants online which were comically too big, got two sizes smaller and they are still a size or more too big. this always happens with pants. i know they make sizes big on purpose for big women, to make us feel better or whatever, but when i measure one size and it's 4 sizes off they've gone too far. i'm going to wear them anyway but i wish they were a size smaller

yo soy el mejor 03-08-2017 01:03 PM

i'm not buying anything new until I 1) alter some items i already have and 2) sell the clothes on ebay i've been meaning to get rid of. i'm sure i could get between 500-800 for everything and i plan to use that to fund new clothes. otherwise it would feel like a waste to spend money i already have on something i don't absolutely need. thing is, i don't really need to buy anything.

Cool As Ice Cream 03-08-2017 03:02 PM

i love a good wedding

next wedding on my calendar is bonnie's
i'll be the special guest from abroad and i'll be drunk and educate people on "good" beer

I wanted to tell you not to worry because today was 52 degrees (F) and sunny (dunno how that compares to where you are but it's pretty fair for us this time of year) but it looks like this weekend will indeed dip into the teens and single digits at night. :(

Sorry.

There's a TMG song for every occasion.

FlamingGlobes 03-08-2017 07:49 PM

Anyone else kinda bummed about the end of daylight savings time? I'm not a vampire, but I definitely prefer it getting dark earlier in the evening. Also, it kinda shaves an hour off of the weekend.

reprise85 03-08-2017 09:29 PM

I like it staying lighter later, so I'm glad for it. Usually I have to work though which sucks, getting up at 4am and losing an hour. But this time I don't have to

As for the weather in Maine, my mom got me gloves and a hat and another sweater and i have jesus on my side He will keep me warm

lol I'm doomed RIP reprise85

FlamingGlobes 03-08-2017 09:46 PM

I'd take it you're not used to colder climates? It's really not so bad here as long as you dress appropriately.

Then again, I've lived here most of my life. So I probably just don't know any better. I also enjoy colder weather. *dodges rotten fruit*

reprise85 03-08-2017 10:36 PM

yeah, i live in south florida. 50 is very cold to me

Hell yes.

What's not to love about sunburn and perspiration?

FoolofaTook 03-09-2017 01:58 AM

The colder the better. One of my dreams is to move to alaska. they have legal ganja there and winters of ravenblack darknesses. i visualize myself in my minds eye as taking methamphetamines and writing an epic fantasy poem about frost demons and enchanted elven babes.

redbreegull 03-09-2017 04:09 AM

fuck cold weather you people are freaks

we are supposed to live under the sun

It really doesn't have to be that cold, I just can't deal with how oppresively hot it gets around here.

I have sensitive skin and if it's too hot and humid it means I get skin irritation in many spots.
Colder weather means I have to see less guys with their gut out wearing just shorts.
Don't need to take multiple showers a day to keep feeling clean.
Holding hands or hugging someone is easier
This relates to the first but deserves to be mentioned separately: underboob sweat

smashingjj 03-09-2017 07:16 AM

I don't know what i did last summer

I can get on board with this. Well, most of it.

It's all about balance. If it were a nice, crisp 62 degrees (F) all year round, I'd be perfectly content (and please, if such a place exists, educate me!). Anything hotter than that and I am just miserable. Thus, I prefer the desolate winter to the oppressive summer.

FlamingGlobes 03-09-2017 06:32 PM

Reprise: how long are you in Maine? Weather reports are saying we might get a foot of snow on Tuesday. Hope you're not flying out that day. :(

FlamingGlobes 03-09-2017 06:32 PM

Also: fuck yeah, more snow! Winter will never end! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

buzzard 03-09-2017 06:33 PM

Methamphetamine teaches us to compromise, swapping out the unspoilt mountainous landscapes and uninhibited authorship for carpeted motel rooms and cheque kiting.

i am going to be so cold this weekend. when i lived in louisiana we had some 15-digit days but in the past 13 years i haven't been below about freezing, and only rarely. i think it got to about 45 this winter for a couple of mornings
