Got this on vinyl for $10 recently, which was a nice surprise as it's my favorite N.O. - been spinnin' it all the livelong evening!
|
Ramones - Pleasant Dreams
The Clash - London Calling (always good on a rainy day) Hall & Oates - Abandoned Luncheonette |
Jad and David Fair - Suse Us While We Kiss the Sky
just released this month holy No Wave batman, was expecting another indie-ish record like they've been making, but they ditch the Half Japanese name for this one and drop quite a gnarly noise record |
The Horrors - Strange House (2007)
this is some serious Birthday Party worship, but I'll allow it |
black francis - bluefinger
david bowie - no plan dinosaur jr. - chocomel daze |
|
damn you spinning that devil's song a lot these days.
isn't it SENESCENT how the riff from intro comes back at the end in the title song? DUM... Duh-Duh-Duh-Duh-DUM... etc. |
it's actually the only one of theirs i've listened to multiple times so far
Pink really sounded disjointed, I was surprised by that. Rainbow's good but I guess I was more expecting something along the lines of their louder shit, even so, once I accepted the fact that it was a generally "mellower" album I really liked it. Noise is pr good, but I really haven't given it all that close of a listening yet |
yeah it was akuma and rainbow that made me a fan. and listening to flood on shrooms.
happy to hear that you're not that impressed by pink. ppl tend to gush over it (turdlion i'm looking at you) but i think it's hella over-rated. |
yeah, after that first track it just seemed to go into Akuma-esque territory but not as good, & overall it kinda felt like a shuffle more than an album. there were a couple of moments that are gonna draw me back into multiple listens tho
|
|
Thinking back on it there really weren't many (if any) individual tracks on it I disliked - I may try listening in the vinyl track order next time
|
i didn't even realize there was a different track order. that's how much i have neglected pink.
in all fairness it has five top-tier borisu songs: farewell, pink, blackout, pseudo-bread, and JUST ABONDONED MYSELF |
wtf there's an 11 minute my machine.
i might just have to check this out |
yeah it's not as substantially different an ordering than say, Mellon Collie, but it has Farewell near the end which I thought could be interesting
|
|
yeah my machine extended has a cool wata solo. it was in the movie confessions which explains my confusion. i was wondering why i had never heard that song. it's aight. but not essential boris
you should check out heavy rocks next. that was my first boris album. |
|
sounds like the Boris for me!
|
yeah dude heavy rocks is the shit. non stop killer riffs.
|
Listened to Astronoid - Air today
Whoa. Shit changed my perspective on metal |
Mid-Air Thief - Crumbling
Korean psychedelic pop. Definitely AOTY for me. |
looks like the west (yellow) sea
|
|
|
ah... sweet, sweet senescence
|
Visage - The Anvil
new wave, electronic, post punk etc |
etc i n c l u d e s metal?
