I'll take the lack of comments on this as your support for Bernie Corgan.

Big Truck05 02-01-2020 09:53 PM

I thought it said, "Tom Waits, bury me". Paying homage to the American singer, songwriter, musician, composer and actor, Tom Waits

Don't have my Gish deluxe handy to fact check, that, but that's what I always thought that line was - what have you been singin since 91?

In related news, still aghast over it being "Panda show" and not essentially anything else.

Corgan's Bluff 02-02-2020 06:53 PM

Corgan four years ago about Bernie Sanders at "InfoWars":

"I can’t believe that we’re even having this discussion, if you can understand when I say that to you humbly. To be talking in America in 2016 about Mao is a good idea, and a socialist is running for president and that’s OK, and we’re going to go back to these crazy tax rates where we’re going to completely disempower the innovators in our country because the new technocratic class wants to keep their position and they want to keep anybody else from coming in the game…I mean, it’s just crazy to me."

TuralyonW3 02-02-2020 10:40 PM

Corgan doesn’t have a college fucking degree

Is there something you take issue with about this? The only people who want socialism are the lazy unintelligent folks who don't have the capabilities to earn their own money

redbreegull 02-03-2020 12:56 AM

You will die quickly in the revolution

Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
- Galatians 6:2

And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.
- Acts 2:44-45

And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
- Luke 3:11

But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?
- 1 John 3:17

Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.
- 1 Corinthians 10:24

I only posted Corgan's comment about Bernie Sanders, without any comment by myself...

we could keep on closing threads that are political 'discussions' of everyone vs fuzzy, or we could just ban fuzzy. hmm, interesting choice. fuzzy seems to keep forgetting why he was banned from the other forums.

It has to be your own choice, not forced upon you by any government.

I don't even care anymore, man. It's not even that fun of a community to visit anymore. There used to be a wealth of differing ideas and opinions shared and you've essentially engineered it into an echo-chamber.

I was talking to a buddy on the forum and he was saying that you guys should just do a mass unbanning. Undo every ban that there ever was and let every one get together again on a clean slate. There is something a little unjust about these permanent bannings, especially on a forum that is generating a flow of new contributors. I mean good grief, even murderers are allowed a 2nd chance in society in most countries in the world

fuzzyroes 02-03-2020 09:44 AM

It seems as though even good ole Foolofatook has gotten bored with this place, that should tell you something

The Bible can actually be quite a cutthroat text. Yes, it urges one to love thy neighbor and so on and so forth, but there's a lot of passages regarding taking control of ones life and providing for oneself and ones family. Cherry picking a few isolated passages isn't helping your case in this regard

topleybird 02-03-2020 10:26 AM

Five specific quotes in support of what is commonly understood to be the basis of Christianity vs. "oh there are lots that say the opposite, just loads, they're in there somewhere"

Who's to say who's right or wrong

smashingjj is upset about the content of the discourse, I don't wanna dare upset the righteous moderators by going off topic in this very important topic of a thread.

But I will leave you with a passage from 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that I think is pertinent to the point I'm trying to make

"I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."

Does that sound like taking the easy gifted path in life to you?

Self reliance is key to independence and liberty. Never forget this:idea:

For this, we agree :)

topleybird 02-03-2020 11:59 AM

2 Timothy 4:1-5, which is what you just quoted, goofball, is about keeping the faith in yourself and continuing to spread the gospel to others and be a good minister

I have no idea what that would have to do with an easy gifted path and that was not what buzzard was talking about, at all, anyway

You're really terrible at this

topleybird 02-03-2020 12:02 PM

You've studied the Bible, right, and read differing analysis of what it means

You haven't, say, picked up a selective Christianity by listening to Trump-supporting evangelicals quoting incorrectly like you just did and telling you it means Jesus — Jesus — wanted people not to help others

Isn't cherry-picking exactly what you're doing by dismissing a selection of quotes all conforming to a dissenting view by way of reference to some other that supports your preexisting belief?

WTF happened to my Bernie thread?
