The very definition of "douchebag", in the true American sense.

houseofglass11 08-03-2018 02:57 AM

SP performing Fly with him is quite frankly a travesty.

He's literally the caricature of the high school jock bully, straight from a 90s teen movie.

Was already totally unknown outside America in the nineties. :D

no idea who this guy is. I don't think his music made it across the Atlantic.

eviltimeban 08-03-2018 07:04 AM

He (and Sugar Ray) reside in the "one hit wonder" category on this side of the Atlantic, alongside the likes of Crazytown.

Sugar Ray and the likes just encapsulated the severe wrong turn US rock went in the late 90s - everything Kurt Cobain was against.

Seriously! I was just thinking the same thing. It’s like Steve Stifler became a popstar.

Well said. Corporate bands like that coincided with the Clear Channel radio takeover in the late 90’s when everything became homogenized and focus grouped to death which has persisted to this day.

BurtSampson 08-03-2018 06:17 PM

To be fair, Sugar Ray had three hits after Fly. Every Morning, When It’s Over, and Someday. And they all sounded exactly like Fly

which side of the atlantic are you talking about cause they definitely were not a "one hit wonder." they have at least several big songs and were popular for a number of years
