All the bald guys on the Adore tour

I remember watching Adore footage when it was new and I thought it was lame how the whole backing band was completely bald. It seemed so obvious that Corgan went out of his way to do it for some kinda stylistic statement, thinking it was unique or something

When I got older I wasn't sure if it was just a coincidence, but I mean this is the guy that hired ugly people to hang out with him to make him look better. So I figure he was just insecure about being bald so he thought it would be cool to hire a bunch of other baldy's.

Why else would Kenny Aronoff get the gig?

*minds blown*

reprise85 01-28-2016 10:57 PM

Kenny has toured with a shitload of very successful bands, before and after SP. Ain't like he was Mike Byrne.

fuzzyroes 01-28-2016 11:01 PM

I know that. But with an ego maniac like Billy, I just don't think he randomly aquires 3 new backup musicians who all happen to be completely bald by happenstance.

Catherine Wheel to thread

fuzzyroes 01-28-2016 11:03 PM

Billy was big on the image of the band and was always largely calling the shots. He probably had some insecurities about being bald as a cue-ball so thought it would be a cool look to have a band full of bald guys.

Guys pretty much looked like the blue man group on that tour

So you're telling me the tyrant leader Billy Corgan just happens to hire 3 new members who are all as bald as he is by happenstance?

He had a vision of how he wanted the band to look and hired accordingly

reprise85 01-28-2016 11:12 PM

a large percentage of middle aged men are bald

fuzzyroes 01-28-2016 11:12 PM

no reprise, a large percentage of middle age men are not completely bald as cue-balls

fuzzyroes 01-28-2016 11:14 PM

SP on the Adore tour had 4 guys without a single hair on their heads.

You're telling me that just happened to be a "happy" coincidence?.... get real.

It was another awful style direction put into place by the tyrant Corgan.

fuzzyroes 01-28-2016 11:15 PM

Let me guess,

next you're going to be telling me that it was a collective band decision to dress in black leather dresses during the Machina era?

You do fucken realize he shaves it that way right? You're hittin the sauce again tonight, huh

fuzzyroes 01-28-2016 11:29 PM

no shit man. but as I said, it's a stylistic decision. The fact that the 4 guys in the band take the same stylistic route had to be premeditated.

fuzzyroes 01-28-2016 11:30 PM

point is, I think Corgan hired the guys accordingly to fit the stupid image he had in mind for the tour.

fuzzyroes 01-28-2016 11:32 PM

most bald/balding guys don't go the bald as a cue-ball look

redbreegull 01-28-2016 11:44 PM

have you guys ever noticed how many bald men are in rock music? does anyone actually believe that's a coincidence? I mean Billy Corgan and Michael Stipe both even play alternative. Come on, puh-LEASE

T&T 01-28-2016 11:48 PM

please post a pic of all these balding back ups.

kenny arnoff yup, bald.
Stephen Hodges not bald.
Dan Morris no idea.

I got really high once and had a theory that the shaving of the head was a rite of passage for rock stars of a certain upper tier.
the edge (even bono had his head shaved for a while)
Ed Kowalczyk (singer from live)
moby
phil collins...
there was quite a few.

It's cause they all got trepanated?!

reprise85 01-28-2016 11:53 PM

BurtSampson 01-29-2016 11:10 AM

He's still continuing this trend. I bet ~baby AJ~ was bald too

myosis 01-29-2016 12:04 PM

in 1998 it was still a new hip fashion thing for bald men to shave their heads off completely. I guess it was Corgan who set the trend because before him, only Michael Stipe did it.

Tupac!

FoolofaTook 01-29-2016 02:05 PM

Idiots. It was obviously Ramses II, as seen in THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, who set this trend circa 2000 B.C.
