Every time I listen to it I'd like to travel back in time and punch the audience. fantastic acoustic versions.

Quit screaming in my earrrr

Ram27 12-25-2014 12:07 AM

Soundboard of Cat's Cradle would be amazing

Like the acoustic Double Door stuff on TAFH, it feels really cozy to listen to, like you're weathering the storm of the audience crap with the nice recording

FWIW Carrboro is pretty landlocked in the middle of NC

It's weird how people don't know what song it is until he starts singing. Like he plays the I of the Mourning riff and it's fairly quiet, but people only start bleating when he sings the opening line.

Or 1979. Jimmy could play that all day and no one would cheer until the guitar comes in

I dunno why that bothers me

Oh my god that Be Strong Now

Fuck yeah James Iha

GLOWer 12-25-2014 12:21 AM

what a performance of crying tree of mercury.

metro show will probably never come out.
4 hours of material is probably littered with mistakes.
in the moment it was probably fantastic. as a document to revisit repeatedly - billy is too much of a perfectionist to let that pass.
:(

panda show 12-25-2014 03:17 AM

yeah, and he doesn't want everybody to see him cry like a baby on stage

I mean, it truly was the last show of the golden era

Last show with James

Now that it's been 14 damn years it'd be weird and sort of hypocritical for Billy to release the 'last' show.

They'd probably edit the mistakes to some level. Like the Brixton show they cut out the false start of Tonight. They'll probably cut out the beginning thing where MCIS kept playing over the PA, even though that was cool

because people are fucking stupid

how are fans completely unaware of the fact that they're going to be playing Bullet With Butterfly Wings when they've opened it with that same primal drumbeat for nearly 20 years now

same thing for like Depeche concerts or pretty much any other band, you know it's going to be Walking in My Shoes, why act suddenly surprised when the strings come in

Shallowed 12-25-2014 05:23 PM

casual fans

Shallowed 12-25-2014 05:45 PM

Also the tribal intro to BWBW and the intro to Stand Inside Your Love are quite similar. It's fooled me at least once.

Mals Marola 12-25-2014 05:53 PM

they don't really seem to catch on by the bassline either

must be nice to not have a schedule crowded with typing the words "dropped consonants" & be able to actually go to shows

toase 12-26-2014 09:50 PM

Is this reissue thing still happening?

Modern90's 12-27-2014 03:47 PM

B0lly hasn't given an update about its been MTAE MTAE and more MTAE ... oh and anaise

slunken 12-27-2014 05:41 PM

it will be paired up with D4N just like how monuments paired with adore, oceania paired with mcis/tafh (can't remember which), TGBK with siamese dream or pisces, etc

killtrocity 12-27-2014 06:53 PM

yeah he posted an update around the Adore release about working on the Machina reissue, and based on how Virgin fucked him back in 2000, I imagine he has a personal incentive to get this one right

slunken 12-27-2014 06:55 PM

i secretly hope jeff quits halfway through

killtrocity 12-27-2014 07:16 PM

because he's on valium all the time?

slunken 12-27-2014 07:18 PM

then goes and gets a dramatic haircut and laser surgery

Modern90's 12-27-2014 08:17 PM

Machina rerelease is the first reissue I'm excited about

so no update since around late September. Great.

Ram27 12-27-2014 10:19 PM

He talked about Zwan a bit in the reddit AMA, so that's something, kind of

I know, I can't believe he's just been sitting around twiddling his thumbs since the Adore reissue came out, what the fuck

What is he working on, is he working? No one knows, total radio silence from the Pumpkins camp since late September

spandy 12-29-2014 04:26 PM

I wonder how many un heard of songs there will be for this release?

T&T 12-30-2014 03:04 AM

I hope we get at least 4 more versions of HMM and BSBT. I believe in Billy

Oh god I didn't even think of how many BSBT versions we're gonna get. I don't want this reissue anymore.

Face it bill, you've reworked the song like 6 times and it hasn't worked a single time.

I'm picturing a cramped sweat lodge where Jeff and a clearly offended Native American are staring dolefully at each other while Billy rolls around on the floor going out of his mind on some kind of horrid peyote tea he brewed himself
