Looking forward to in March:

Black Map
Mastodon
Minus The Bear

Also, new QOTSA, whenever that one arrives.

a lot of former shoegaze greats are bringing out new stuff this year, but I'm quite sceptical. in March 24th, new JAMC. Also there'll be a new Ride and a new Slowdive album, apparently. Anyone know when these will come out?

Pile - A Hairshirt of Purpose
Yowie - Synchromysticism
Oxbow - The Thin Black Duke
Wear Your Wounds -
Mutoid Man -
Grizzly Bear -
Mastodon - Emperor of Sand
Part Chimp - iV
Black Elk - ?

new QOTSA this year? cool. I saw this band twice open for the Pumpkins and those were the first time ever hearing their music. Interesting way to start to get into a band, but generally speaking I dig their music a lot Josh Homme is a legit troubadour.

that said, I'm partial to his work in Kyuss.

Picked up Voids by Minus the Bear and No Resolution by Tim Kasher (Cursive). Gonna be bumping that shit all night.

Strange, jaw-dropping riffs, hypnotic repetition, multiple singers with vastly different approaches (super aggro punk screams on 1 track, haunting, smooth falsettos on the next) and some of the most thickest, delicious guitar tones on the planet.

But mostly the riffs. IMHO Joshua Homme is an unparalleled crafter of a riff library so diverse, so bizarre, so improbable, so sickeningly catchy, that they often take over my central nervous system and send my limbs flailing in all directions.

Haven't listened to em as much since I quit drinking, tho, for whatever reason

i actually agree with poots i guess i don't get it, even them crooked vultures ft bassgod didn't move me all that much

It must suck to be a conservative and not have any decent musicians on your side.

redbreegull 03-17-2017 07:40 PM

new Father John Misty comes out in a few weeks. It's gonna take over my life probably.

it's leaked already I think but who gives a shit I'll just steal it when it actually comes out. the wait will make it better

The lyrics are amazing, I don't remember lyrics this good in a long time... The album is pretty good too, reminds me of Recoil, which I really like

So much love is my fav up to now

But, yeah, it's still growing on me, it's not very memorable at first

I don't know if theres any connection with that statement, but they got very political on this album, if so,

thanks alt-right, sorry you won't enjoy the lyrics very much

I don't know what's up with this slowed down version, but this is amazing :smoke:

i always liked QOTSA up to their previous album, last one was a bit meh.

i also completely understand when people don't get the appeal. it's not like they're something really special.

FlamingGlobes 03-18-2017 02:25 PM

Heard the new Depeche Mode today and it's def legit. Don't think I'll be picking it up, though. For whatever reason, I think I have all the Depeche Mode in my life I'll ever need at this moment.

I liked Clockwork a lot better than Era. Era had bigger standouts but was very patchy as an album. Clockwork just flows so smoothly.

Mals Marola 03-18-2017 02:27 PM

i will never not pick up a new Depeche Mode release
