I have kind of a fear of donating blood even though I know it is important.

How long after visiting a malarial country do I have to wait before donating?

Malaria is transmitted by the bite of mosquitoes found in certain countries and may be transmitted to patients through blood transfusion. Blood donations are not tested for malaria because there is no sensitive blood test available for malaria.
If you have traveled or lived in a malaria-risk country, we may require a waiting period before you can donate blood.
Wait 3 years after completing treatment for malaria.
Wait 12 months after returning from a trip to an area where malaria is found.
Wait 3 years after living more than 5 years in a country or countries where malaria is found. An additional waiting period of 3 years may be required if you have traveled to an area where malaria is found if you have not lived a consecutive 3 years in a country or countries where malaria is not found.
If you have traveled outside of the United States and Canada, your travel destinations will be reviewed at the time of donation.

I faint too due to loss of volume but I try

They say to go over there and eat a cookie when you begin to see the stars

But it's hard to go over there and do that when you are too busy fainting

When I was in the shelter in Michigan there would be a bunch of druggies who would get together and drive to Indiana to give blood. I think they'd each get around $50 or more. Once they tried to convince me to go with them but they were the types that returned stolen goods to stores for refunds and so on and ao forth. so I politely declined knowing that I would be lucky to get $10 out of that $50.

I don't get anything for giving blood.

Except less blood

God will reward you in heaven with a little ruby in your crown for each blood donation.

I can hardly keep it together when I get a blood test, I don't know how I would manage donating it.
