The issue is not so much it not appealing to you, but you trying to make the case that it's objectively bad, rather than just not your cup of tea. Like in the other thread I was saying I don't "get" King Krule, but like I can see how other people do and I don't begrudge them for digging him.

We might do this kind of thing for artists that are completely devoid of merit, but even those are pretty hard to universally agree upon. (Umm Toby Kieith? Black Eyed Peas?)

I mean do you like any classic hardcore at all? Like D-beat stuff? Do you like thrash metal?

like i'm supposed to think that over-playing warrants a gold medal or something because the musicians are playing for the sake of playing.

yes. once you get into it, it sounds like every other patton project since the 90s: schizophrenic and musically all over the place. genre switching, etc. it's just way too dang busy.

my favorite(?) part about frank zappa was that some followers compared him to mozart but then he wrote songs about farts.

i feel bad for being the heel here because this is a small community, but there isn't much music that I actively rally against.

Patton/Zappa/Etc really touches a sore spot for me. I'm sorry everyone.

genre-switching? I'd argue this album is pretty pure hardcore and thrash with a couple progressive flourishes and some artistic vocal production
