smashing pumpkins screen raver 3,5" floppy
Any more detailed release info out there? It was on eBay a little ago and I wanted to buy it, but didn't seem genuine, as the floppy label claimed it was for Macintosh, but in the descritpion said to insert the diskette into the a drive, which is common for windows. Anyway, you're supposed to inster tthis with the Siamese Dream CD in, and you'll get some nice psychedelic light effects along to the songs, as described in CMJ New Music Monthly from 1995 (just google it to see pics).
oh, here it is again http://www.ebay.com/itm/SMASHING-PUM...-/290681613466 this link says it's a promo from 1994, but not how it was released. Also, you can clearly see it's a floppy for Windows. http://www.rarerecords.com.au/miscel...n=item&id=8568 |
might be fake.
the letters on this label look sharper: http://www.spfreaks.com/?page=COLLDETAILS&item=2258 |
that's also what I thought, the one on the ebay auction looks like printed out, but thanks, now at least I know this a drive letter thing is real. I actually tried to find it on sp freaks but I didn't know what category to look in. Well, I guess i'll try to buy it and try it out on my old mac.

I remember downloading this and thinking it was pretty dumb even when I was 14. I've never seen the actual disk anywhere.

it looks like that watermark is on the picture, but not on the disk itself.

It's gonna suck so bad...
|
You should totally email that bloke.
|
Anyone fancy making a Youtube video of it? No CD drive here, always wondered what it looked like (though I think I can guess!)
|
I totally had that program, years back. Not the original floppy, though. I have no recollection of what it did, or if it worked on my machine at all.

^ 10 second or so snippet of the song. I think it was used by radio stations to preview upcoming songs or something..
