Quitting my job, graduating and moving to DFW.. eek

So Saturday is my last day here at work and I've been employed here since 2001... I'm graduating on the 11th and moving to Ft. Worth on the 12th. I'll be without a job and in a semi new place where I don't really know where anything is.

I'm kind of freaked out as I've never lived anywhere but here, but then again I'm really stoked to actually start out, you know? We've been separated since I've been here in the Lbk since our honeymoon finishing my last classes for graduation and it'll be awesome to finally be living together.

Anyway. Kind of eeek! new stuff's got me kind of freaked out post. I guess it's time to grow up and shut up huh.

But yeah it seemed like it huh. I was seriously freaking out about moving last week but I'm more so excited than scared this week. I don't adjust well to change at all.

I'm not so sure about Ft. Worth though. I wish we were living in Arlington instead.

West Ft. Worth - Actually, White Settlement to be exact. So we're not far from the Benbrook/Hulen area (is that right?) and 820, which is cool.

I don't know my way around there well outside of 820 where the Walmart and stuff is and then Camp Bowie blvd or drive or whatever it is, that's really the only areas I know.

I just know I'm going to get lost there on a daily basis.

Did you not hear about that? It's come up before the city several times for the name to be changed to "west settlement" and the town always votes against it - this happened like a year or two ago because he was just moving in there and his family was all teasing him about living in "white settlement" because he's hispanic.

You've got it. In fact one of my girl friends that works here (just hired about a year or so ago) is also quitting the same day I am because she said she doesn't want to be forced to work my shift (& weekends) because the other guys won't do it.

I am ready to be out of here (for that reason especially!), but I will miss the guys. I've been working with them for six years now.

Seriously huh? It's way away from everything. Practically like being in Weatherford. Zach got a place there because it's like 2 blocks from Lockeed, where he works. We've been looking at houses on the other side of 820 and in Benbrook tho.

White Settlement is trashy as hell, but Arlington blows ass.

It's the largest city in the United States without its own newspaper. That says everything you need to know about the place.

It's a giant bedroom community that has decided to build every generic strip-mall imaginable within a two-mile radius.
