Wicker Park Summerfest is july 28th and 29th this year
$5 donation benefits the Wicker Park/Bucktown Chamber of Commerce

Outdoor festival features live music on two stages. Also, sample local cuisine and browse arts and crafts.

Jul. 28: 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Jul. 29: 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.

from what i have seen on pollstar for the lineup, i think its gonna be a good one. (oh and there is an advertisement for Ace Fu summer tours that says that man man is playing on the 28th)

Is there other shit going on there? Cuz I swear I saw somewhere that some belly dancer (maybe even my instructor) danced there one year? I dunno if I'm remembering it wrong or what but do you know if there's dancers? Where can I find out?

I have a class to go to with my boss on the 28th so I'd prolly just go on Friday.

I'm going to saturday, this is definitely not the full lineup though...last year had DeVotchKa and some other sweet bands, so it should be great.

where is the wicker park neighborhood? Would it be easy for me to get to from downtown? I'll probably be taking a bus up from Chamapaign/Urbana to get there

Take the Blue Line to the Damen stop. It puts you right in the middle of Wicker Park. You can grab the Blue line in a couple places in the Loop downtown.
