Question Question for the girls: eyebrows...henna??

Okay so I just got some eyebrows. I let my pathetic excuse for eyebrows grow in for a few weeks and then went to a salon to get them reshaped/waxed/etc. She said that since I'd been a plucking maniac, there's a few gaps that would look a little silly so she suggested this stuff she called "henna", which she applied.

I said "the stuff you decorate your hands with?" she said "sorta, but that stuff turns orange and we don't want that, this we'll be able to match the shade"

So she applies it, it's black like a sharpie marker - then she just wipes them a few times until she gets the right shade and supposedly this stuff lasts about 5 days. It looks SO much better than a pencil. I asked her if I could just get this stuff at any beauty supply store, she said yeah. But now I can't find it! I can't even find anything on the internet about it...just stuff that doesn't pertain to this.

Anyone have any idea? Do you use something similar? It's basically just like a temporary eyebrow dye I guess.

And for reference, in case you didn't see the pic post:

And if you don't remember, this is how horrible they were before (pardon the awful picture, it was my "before" picture when I was getting my hair cut, only pic I could find with natural eyebrows)

Get out of here, ho. I was asking the women.

And I'm not getting eyebrow tattoos. I just want some color.

Your brows look really nice.

Carmindy says you should use the stuff that you use with a brush.

There was this girl, Jamie the Teenage Witch, she had draw on eyebrows and this kid licked his thumbs wiped them off. Don't go down that road

Did anyone see the crazy bitch on Intervention last night? Worst. Eyebrows. Ever.

I'm going to make a thread about that now.

It's the first result for a reason. Because it's awesome

I saw that come up when I searched through Sally's eyebrow junk. I have no idea what it is, how it works, or how easy it is to apply. I can obviously look those things up but do you have any experience with them? Is that basically like what I'm talking about? (Color that you can match and lasts for 5-7 days?)

Yeah don't worry guys, I'm not going there. The whole reason I want this dye stuff is because I really suck at making my eyebrows even, even when I'm plucking/shaping them. So I just want this stuff so I don't have to try to go over them with a pencil everyday, save myself the hassle and be able to have eyebrows without having any makeup on.

..last night I was amazed and kept looking in the mirror going "I still have eyebrows!"

don't use a pencil, use a powder, they have stuff specifically for eyebrows, it clings to the hairs to darken them.

safer than any type of henna or tinting anyway, you're not really supposed to do that, you could go BLIND

Thanks.

What stuff with a brush? This stuff you apply with a brush too, as you would the tint as well I'd assume. Unless you mean powder, in which case I don't think I'd want to do that because it would just wash off.

I think the eyebrow tint kits are just dye for your eyebrows. So, it'll make your brows darker, but it won't fill in the gaps. And you can use any hair dye for that - you don't need to specifically get an eyebrow tint kit. (However, the particular eyebrow tint kit referenced here could be different from what I have seen before.) I have never heard of this henna stuff.

I know I know, but this is so much easier. If I can't find anything I'll probably just try to find a cheap powder and see if that works out for me. I used to use a little bit of eyeshadow and a pencil, but pencils look stupid.

I might go back to the salon next time and just ask her if I can pay her for some of the stuff since I can't find it. The salon is right next to a Sally's too so I don't know why Sally's wouldn't have it...I assume that's where they get most if not all of their products.

Huh. This stuff looks like it might be worth it, for $5 I'd try it out.

I'd assume I'd probably want medium brown.

Cool thanks

Yeah this stuff actually dyes the skin too - but fades...obviously fading on the skin sooner than the hair.
