winter was all about kick ass soups, stews, and roasts ... cooked slow n low with a whole lot of love
... but i'm tending towards lighter foods for the warmer weather i've got some plans for a whole snapper on the bbq this spring ... it's going to be some kind of seafood bbq extravaganza! of course this will be accompanied by the usual assortment of prawns, mussells, pipis, octopus, squid, abalone ... *drool* |

last night i did a bacon n mushroom pasta thing which was the goods
sweat off some onion in an unhealthy dose of olive oil and butter throw in bacon and garlic and ass loads of assorted wild mushrooms i got from the market and a big chopped up red chilli seeds and all cook that shit a bit and add a bit of seasoning, some dried herbacious shit pour in your lightened cream there some coriander pesto i made myself cook that shit some more near the end i threw on some diced green and red capsicum (you call em peppers in the states i believe) so that it still had bite to it throw in the fresh pasta that i had prepared earlier straight in the mouth ... fucking gold terribly unhealthy but goddamn delicious |

mercurials food descriptions always have me drooling
I make a damn fine chicken (or whatever) curry. I have awesome recipes for lasagne and a really homely veg soup that my mum's made all my life, but I've never gotten around to making yet. I make these awesome chocolatey biscuity truffle thingies. Nighttime/early morning specials are cheese dreams, these french toasted cheese and onion sandwiches. |

I dig peppered fillet steak with a buttery red wine sauce with some nice creamy mashed potatoes.
But when i make it for myself i just make it with some chips ( 'french fries' for the cultural ingrates amongst us ). |
