I realized recently from looking at the SP board and archives that the general board has fallen far behind in terms of quality of intellectual discussion and creative output. For penance I suggest that every member of the general board analyze a particular piece of original poetry or lyrics written by SP board members, so we can learn how their great minds work. It's not just a bunch of teenagers anymore, no, apparently while we've been in the midst of rabid sex and drug-related discussion, these people have been honing their writing skills.
Lee and I were delighted to find that one of them is in fact (prepare yourself if you didn't already know this) Delilah (yes, that much-maligned woman from the valley of Sorek), cursed as all females, reincarnated as a modern woman, who, on our very own Netphoria Message Board, has been working hard to lay down her unique brand of feminist verse in our own backyard, finally defending herself against the slanderous accusations of the Bible and of men. We are so excited to discover this that I am going to post here, along with the poem in its entirety, the conversation conveying our respective reactions via America Online Instant Messenger and the revelations that followed. EARLY morning b4 teh sun light crack of dawn crack of jack hammer she teh blender & teh cutter samson lost his hair gained strength and beauty more than fair -Delilah [21:10] ladragonkiller: There's actually something to that. [21:10] NegaBenji76: as soon as she started posting all these other people appeared and started interacting with her - I think you can tell who [21:10] NegaBenji76: what, 'crack of jack'? [21:10] ladragonkiller: There's more than one meaning there. [21:13] NegaBenji76: well there's crackerjack, what else? [21:13] ladragonkiller: See there are these two people named Dawn and Jack and they're literally butt-naked and screwing, but she's more powerful than him so she takes away his power but makes him more attractive, so really, what more could he ask for? [21:13] ladragonkiller: This is several notches above the normal raindrops + sunshowers bullshi. [21:13] ladragonkiller: t [21:14] NegaBenji76: I'm making noodles so I might be in and out [21:14] NegaBenji76: so that's 'teh jack hammer' then [21:15] ladragonkiller: No wait. [21:16] ladragonkiller: Hammer is a masculine image. "Blender" is a receptacle, which implies female, and also in the mating process the blending of sperm and egg take place within the woman's body. So Delilah cutting Samson's hair is an analogy for woman drawing the life-force out of man in order to create new life. [21:17] NegaBenji76: but blenders are also destructive [21:18] ladragonkiller: Exactly. And so are women! [21:18] NegaBenji76: anything you put into them is cut and eventually destroyed [21:18] NegaBenji76: maybe its a metaphor for an STD [21:18] ladragonkiller: As is true with the gazillions of sperm you have to dump into a woman before one gets her pregnant. [21:19] ladragonkiller: "crack of jack" is obviously a pop-culture reference, a play on Cracker Jack, and "crack of dawn" is a common expression, and she uses both of these to tell us that the characters are naked. [21:20] ladragonkiller: Pretty ingenious if you ask me. [21:20] ladragonkiller: I should post this. [21:20] ladragonkiller: And then there's the segue straight into "jackhammer." [21:21] ladragonkiller: Not only does this guy have an ass like Paul Bunyan...he's has quite the lumberjack's tool as well. [21:22] ladragonkiller: I have to admit it does fall apart from what appears to be a strong start in the second half of the poem. [21:22] NegaBenji76: haha [21:23] NegaBenji76: maybe what she's implying in the second part is role reversal [21:24] ladragonkiller: And then there's also the representation of the artificial male character (Cracker Jack) attempting to corrupt and pollute NATURE, in other words DAWN. [21:24] NegaBenji76: see crack of dawn followed by crack of jack says that where one naked butt was, the other has taken its place [21:24] ladragonkiller: But nature has a way of getting even. [21:24] ladragonkiller: But apparently this was WRITTEN by Delilah. Interesting. [21:25] NegaBenji76: she's the blender (receptacle) AND the cutter (long tool), which could imply she's equipped herself with a strap-on phallus [21:25] ladragonkiller: And there's an inherent contradiction because we all know that when she cut his hair he actually lost his strength. [21:26] ladragonkiller: And yet she's saying he gained it and that's more than fair. [21:26] ladragonkiller: Oh my god, Lee. You're totally on to something. [21:26] NegaBenji76: samson loses his hair, that which makes him masculine, but gains beauty and fairness, which are usually associated with women - he's taken the woman's place by allowing dawn to fuck him in the ass [21:26] ladragonkiller: Holy shit, I think you might be right. [21:27] NegaBenji76: well he's gained it by allowing himself to yield - it's all yin and yang and taoism [21:27] NegaBenji76: this is all before the sunlight, which is of course symbolic of enlightenment [21:28] ladragonkiller: You're right. What I was missing is that Dawn and Jack are the same person. [21:28] ladragonkiller: And this is all Delilah's justification for taking away Samson's power, in other words, fucking him in the ass. [21:28] ladragonkiller: Because now he knows how it feels to be a woman. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
