i finally got around to seeing this movie.

i really liked it, jake gyllenhaal did a great job and jena malone was excellent as she usually is. i loved the plot and how it's open to multiple interpretations, led to interesting half drunk conversation about it by night's end. some people in the room were watching it for the 100th time while others for the first, but most were drawn into it by the halfway mark, either that or passed out.

how did everyone else like the movie?

Thumbs down

This is one of those movies that's interesting to see once but if it's taken seriously (and so many people seem to take it REALLY seriously) it just becomes this annoying piece of shit for, as someone put it ages ago, psuedo-intellectuals to sit around talking about like it's the epitomy of deep philosophy.

And whatever you do, avoid the director's cut too. I want those twelve hours of my life back

Donnie Darko was okay. I dont really have any desires to watch it again

I saw Capote last night (finally) and I enjoyed it.

jena malone is the only good part about it.

and she's been in far better movies, so i'd rather watch those.

Whenever I read the title I hear Drew Barrymore saying his name in the movie

"Donnie Darko"

although liking movies has to do with opinions, this is a completely objective argument. it's a fact. can't deny this, timur.

i watched it on acid and i was honestly traumatized by it. i think i cried through the whole thing, and i really felt like the movie was pumping bad energy into the world. it wasn't a bad trip, but i would never watch a freaky movie like that on acid again.

that said, i have not seen it since then. i guess i would.

It was allright. "How exactly does one SUCK a FUCK?"

Supposedly Richard Kelley's new movie got panned at Cannes (heh) with lots of critics walking out

terrible dialog

the worst was the smurfs part, though. he was blatantly trying to write like tarantino or kevin smith

You can't compare that shit (singing Austrians? What the fuck?) to Donnie Darko.

I'm stupid as well: Tho it may be overrated by some stupid emo kiddies, it is a damn good flick to watch and enjoy.

has anyone seen "the librarian: quest for the spear"? i'd say it's the best film of the 21st century thus far
