Is it normal for someone to try to enter an elevator before letting the people inside exit?

A week ago i was exitting the elevator in my building and a lady was like "EXCUSE ME" when i was walking through the door, trying to get in.

that would rule. except i think she doesn't live in the building.... she was a guest and thus did not know the elevator ettiquette.... she probably stands facing the back too... that fucking bitch.

i fucking hate this. same with people who get on the subway or train before everyone has exited. i've yelled at cocky buisnessmen for nearly knocking over kids & old people before.

subway doors are big enough for people to exit/enter on their right sides. well at least the subway doors here. i think its perfectly fine especially during rush hour

I don't ever use a lift anymore but yeah, people get out first. Same for buses/trains.

This also irks me, when people try and cut across you to get on a bus while you're trying to get off it. My main pet hate about that is people who turn up to the bus stop when you've been waiting for 10 minutes already, and then they try to get on the bus before you. I've just started doing it to everyone now because no one in england seems to take note of queueing (sp)

Some woman who's about 55 kept doing it to me and the other day some younger chick did it to her and she said 'EXCUSE ME BUT WE HAVE A QUEUEUEUEUEING SYSTEM HERE' and the girl let her on first. I said really loud to the girl I dunno what the fuck she's talking about, she skips on in front of me every day, and if she wants to start moaning about bus etiquette then she should really stop taking up an extra seat on the bus with her bags.

I agree, but where do you live? The sub constantly takes off without people trying to get on, at least in chicago. it's brutal.
