I finally picked up tafh after all these years. Didn't realize how many songs in this set I have never heard before. Amazing how much these are selling for new online. I saw some asking prices of $175-$300 for new factory sealed. I just scored a sealed new one for $90 on ebay tonight, so I think I did good considering how late I am buying this since it went out of print. Can't wait for it to arrive. Just wanted to share my excitement with you guys :)

It's a gorgeous set. The packaging alone makes it an awesome set to have, let alone all the AWESOME covers and B-sides inside. I got one for my boyfriend as a present a few christmases ago, and am tempted to get myself my own set... Such wonderful songs. o.o And the Pistachio medley is worth a whole lot, as is the song Aeroplane Flies High.

Has anyone seen them selling the box-set around Toronto?
I got the discs from the box one by one from Sonic Boom, and the 33 single is actually not the one from the box-set - The Bells are missing. Not that I'd be particularly missing the song, but hey....

If you're going to open it and listen to it, I seriously don't understand paying that much for a brand new sealed copy. You could've saved about $50-60 and gotten one as good as new.

I got mine at HMV and I'm pretty sure it was $40something. Hey did you read my response in that other thread?
I got mine for xmas too.

I guess it could have been 70. I know they filled out 3 spots on my HMV card, how swell of them. When I got 10 I used it on one of those SP interview discs with a photo booklet.

sp fans who don't have it yet, i'd say buy it when and where you can find it.
obviously ebay will be random. from day to day a price changes or maybe none are available.

I got the box set when it first came out for christmas. i was young and foolish and didnt take good care of it (though i loved it to death! greeeeeeaaat songs). i recently picked up a used copy on ebay for $25 bucks. the auction also had the lull ep, 2 stickers and a patch thrown in with it. the box and discs are in great shape too so i got very lucky!
my top 5 songs from the set are:
1. The Aeroplanes Flies High (Turns Left, Looks Right)
I remember getting this the summer it came out . . . sneaking into the computer lab at school to order it off of cdnow.com with my parent's credit card, which took much pleading . . . i remember being the biggest Pumpkins fan ever, but without the internet (which was still a mysterious thing at the time, this was a good year before netphoria was around) all of my info came from rolling stone or MTV . . . to my complete astonishment some random dude at school who didn't even like SP got it from his parents for his birthday . . . he was all "i like this band, but not enough to have a whole box of songs by them . . ." i didn't even know such a thing existed, it was like the holy grail, and it frusterated me to no end that i wasn't on the "up and up" with my band when some joe schmo was . . . it took three weeks of me checking the mailbox every single day, and when it finally arrived i spent a whole summer afternoon under a tree devouring the box set . . . it was worth ever minute spent waiting . . . i wish i could experience that sort of thing now, when anything new by BC comes out i am the first to right click and save as . . . i didn't make it for thefutureembrace, but the next one i am not listening to a single note until i actually unwrap the cd . . . unless its a new Pumpkins record that is . . . ;)

Holy crap.
