two of my friends that were very casual SP fans (liked an alubm or a few songs) are really digging TFE... one heard it in my car and went home and bought it off itunes that day and really likes it.. the other i burnt a copy for before it was out, and a couple weeks later he was telling me how much he was digging the new CD... then he went and bought it the first day it was out..

anyone else have any stories of your friends/fam liking it?

My imaginary friend hated it..but then again he is still waiting for SD 2

But seriously, I don't really know of anyone who has heard the album besides me and my brother..I bet a lot of people still don't know BC even has a solo album out.

The only friends of mine who don't like TFE also don't like SP because of "that fag billy corgan and his whiny faggot voice."

i took a friend of mine to the 2nd night gig at the london forum - she couldn't remember who she was going to see, and was saying to everybody all day... ''i'm going to see erm... bob, no barry.... erm, nope... billy, billy sumthingorother!!''. Anyway, she was then throurughly pissed off with me that night:
a) for making her get there early and queue
b) having to stand at the front for hours so we got a good position
c) waiting an hour in an alley so i could meet billy after the show... which resulted in us missing the last train...

i saw her a week later for her birthday drinks where she told me that she'd popped into HMV.... seen TFE, thought she might as well buy it....

... she is now obsessed... she loves the album and is playing nothing but TFE .....

:D

My girlfriend loves it. Atleast I know she is into A100 and To Love Somebody. The first time I played it, she asked if it was Mick Jager. She's more into classical stuff anyways, doesn't know much about the Pumpkins, but seems to really dig Billy Corgan... I think if you don't expect it to sound like SP, you will be happier with this album.

My wife said he sounds like a little girl (I believe we were listening to "All Things Change" when she made the comment)... I couldn't really argue with her there. She also said "To Love Somebody" was a pretty gay song to cover, and asked "Why is the guy from The Cure even on there? He's not even doing anything really." Again, I found it difficult to come up with a response. She did like "Mina Loy", "TheCameraEye", and "Walking Shade" though. She said the whole thing sounded very 80's-ish.

The only friend I played the album for hated it, he generally likes the pumpkins, but then again I only played it for him once and he only listened to half of it and then he told me to change the CD lol.

friends of mine who like the cure, dm, cocteau twins are actually buying the album. i use the word actually to stress that they like the songs and want to own it, not actually as in "i'm surprised they would actully buy it"

one of them got a ticket to see them last night as well, and wouldn't shut up about how great billy was.

like i didn't already know.

my bro isn't an sp fan at all and neither is my mom. but i picked them up last week while playing tfe in the car. i turned around to see both of em nodding their heads to mina loy. they said the cd has some really cool beats and (once again) very 80ish. also my bro went out to buy his own copy and will be coming with me to the show.

Most of my friends dont really dig it, however, they appreciate some of the "hip hop like beats" that billy is now utalizing.
